Grand Teton Music Festival Announces 2022 Season

The Grand Teton Music Festival has announced its 61st season, led by Music Director Sir Donald Runnicles, July 3 to August 27, 2022. The 2022 Festival features an opera initiative, a new Sunday afternoon piano recital series showcasing virtuosic pianists, robust orchestral offerings, the continuation of the Gateway Series and more.

The Jacob's Masterworks Series has been the centerpiece of the San Diego Symphony's concert season for many years. But the pandemic put the series on hold and delayed the launch of Rafael Payare's first full season as music director and conductor. The opening of the outdoor Rady Shell has allowed the Series to resume without the masking or reduction in attendance that would be required indoors. And a successful host it has proven to be. Turnouts have been larger than can ever be accommodated at the Jacobs Music Center, and acoustics, electronically manipulated though they be, are in many ways an improvement on those of the hall.

Shriver Hall Concert Series will open its 2021-22 season with a performance by the lauded Miró Quartet. The in-person concert features Mozart's String Quartet in B-flat Major, K. 458, 'Hunt;' Beethoven's String Quartet in A minor, Op. 132; and the world premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw's Microfictions [Vol. I].
Wallis Artistic Director Paul Crewes To Step Down, Transition To Artistic Advisor

Pioneering arts leader Paul Crewes, who has served since 2015 as the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' first Artistic Director, steps down from his position at the end of this year and transitions to a new role as Artistic Advisor for the balance of The Wallis' 2021-2022 Season, it was announced by Michael Nemeroff, Chairman of the Board.

The San Diego Symphony announced its inaugural season of concerts at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, the new year-round outdoor venue with 360-degree views of downtown, the marina & the bay. Opening August 6-8, the season will offer more than 40 concerts between August and November 2021, including eight concerts led by Music Director Rafael Payare.

Music of the Baroque's esteemed music director, Dame Jane Glover, makes her first appearance in the organization's revised 50th season later this month, joined by American-Israeli virtuoso pianist Inon Barnatan, in Barnatan Plays Mozart.
