EXIT STRATEGY, directed by Christopher Windom, will be performed live and in person from January 26 to February 5, 2023, at Randall Theater.

 The Gift Theatre has announced its 2023 season, featuring the Chicago premiere of Anna Ouyang Moench’s dark comedy Mothers, directed by Lili-Anne Brown and a revival of Jim Cartwright’s powerful, award-winning drama The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, directed by Devo de Mayo.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society announced the recipient and finalist for its annual Zelda Fichandler Award.

BoHo Theatre will close out its 2022/2023 season with TICK, TICK…BOOM!, with music, lyrics, and book by the late Jonathan Larson, and directed by Bo Frazier. This production marks the company’s first musical since BIG FISH in 2019.

Primary Stages has announced additional performers for their 38th Anniversary Gala, honoring long-time collaborators Charles Busch and Carl Andress (The Confession of Lily Dare; The Tribute Artist) with the 2022 Einhorn Mentorship Award. The event will take place on Tuesday November 15, 2022, at 6pm at Sony Hall 

Acclaimed Black Filipinx playwright and Kilroys List honoree Roger Q. Mason will receive a developmental reading of their new play THE PINK with Primary Stages as part of their Creative Access Grant Reading Series. The reading will take place on Friday, November 4 at 3pm at 59E59 Theaters.

PRIMARY STAGES will present additional programming for their Fall 2022 season, including readings, panels and talkbacks for their fall production peerless and the Creative Access Grant Recipients Reading Series.  

Rec Room Arts will begin preview performances on Thursday, October 20 for PUT YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER, written by acclaimed Chicago playwright and frequent Rec Room collaborator, Ike Holter (Exit Strategy, Sender), directed by Matt Hune.

The Huntington has announced the casting and creative team for the highly anticipated revival of August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, directed by Lili-Anne Brown. Wilson’s masterpiece serves as the inaugural production of the newly renovated Huntington Theatre and runs from October 14 – November 13, 2022.

First Floor Theater will launch its Tenth Season with the Chicago premiere of Jordan Tannahill’s Botticelli in the Fire, a hot-blooded queering of Renaissance Italy that questions the value of art at the collapse of society.

Fasten your seatbelts, and prepare for turbulence. In a co-production with Baltimore Center Stage, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company will present the regional premiere of AIN’T NO MO’, written by Jordan E. Cooper.

4 Seasons Total Sh!tshow, a world premiere written by Aaron Michnowski, was a total success, garnering multiple praise from the media.   This production is produced and directed by Hiro Korsgaard.  Original material based on alternative facts.

PRIMARY STAGES announced casting for On That Day in Amsterdam by Clarence Coo (People Sitting in Darkness) and directed by Zi Alikhan (The Boy Who Danced on Air). On That Day in Amsterdam will begin previews at 59E59’s Theater A on July 23, 2022, with opening night set for August 11 for a limited run through September 4, 2022.

Steep Theatre will make its much-anticipated return to production with the Midwest Premiere of Eboni Booth's Paris, opening June 18th.

Ms. Booth, a Drama Desk award-winning actor, made her Off-Broadway playwriting debut with the critically-acclaimed Paris at Atlantic Theatre Company in January of 2020.  Steep Ensemble Member Jonathan Berry, who has been at the helm of a slew of Steep hits over the years including Ike Holter's Red Rex and Simon Stephens' Birdland, directs.

Aggregate Collective, a theatre incubator supporting the development of new creative works, announces mission and inaugural project. Created by a group of multi-hyphenated theatre makers wanting to expand ethnic, cultural, social-economic and gender representation in the theatre industry, Aggregate Collective's mission is to support artists during the early stages of a creative endeavor through radical hospitality and shared learning.

It was announced today that Jonathan Muñoz-Proulx will be the next Artistic Director of the Los Angeles LGBT Center's highly acclaimed Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center in Hollywood.
