City Theatre is unwrapping something special this holiday season with our favorite New York undie-rock duo The Skivvies in the premiere of Sleigh My Name. I would love to have been a fly on the wall as Stephen Sondheim and Hal Prince collaborated on Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Maybe one of them said, "what's the darkest topic we could tackle that will allow us to incorporate gorgeous musicality?"

Long Island theatre patrons have the opportunity to attend the tale of a 'killer' production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's horror musical 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' at the Merrick Theatre & Center For the Arts until August 20.

The Mac-Haydn Theatre (MHT), continues its 2017 season with the Stephen Sondheim Tony Award winning musical thriller, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. This will be the third MHT premiere of the season.

Clive Cholerton takes the demon barber's ballads into new dimensions of cruelty and possibility.

There's a new tonsorial parlor setting up shop at Palm Beach Dramaworks this summer, and the proprietor possesses skills that can best be described as cutthroat. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, the brilliant Tony Award-winning musical thriller by Stephen Sondheim (music and lyrics) and Hugh Wheeler (book), opens at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre on July 14, following a specially priced preview on July 13. This deliciously macabre and witty tale of a throat-slitting barber and his enterprising accomplice, Mrs. Lovett, who grinds his victims into meat pies, runs through August 6. Clive Cholerton directs and Emmanuel Schvartzman, making his PBD debut, is the musical director.

The additional performances are scheduled for 7:30pm each evening, with the exception of the 3pm matinee on Sunday, July 2. Musical Theatre Artists of Pittsburgh­­ announces a cast of 8 singers, who will perform 21 songs by 31 artists in its second edition of Hot Metal Musicals, a showcase of members' work. ArtsWest is pleased to announce SWEENEY TODD, Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award-winning musical about a tortured man who carves out a bloody path to vengeance, opening at the ArtWest Playhouse and Gallery on June 1.

With music and lyrics by the celebrated Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler, this vulgar delight of a production is no small undertaking; however, the students and faculty of TCU's Theatre department proved they were certainly up to the challenge.

Stephen Sondheim's gloriously dark and enormously tuneful take on the tale of the 'Demon Barber of Fleet Street', SWEENEY TODD, is given a highly entertaining presentation in Stray Dog Theatre's latest production. There have been several different stagings of the musical over the years, one of which even featured the actors playing the music score, but this one features a great music ensemble, terrific performances, and a wonderful representation of a grungy and corrupt London, circa 1846. Since Stray Dog first started performing musicals a few years ago they've become more and more adept at it with each successive offering. SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET is an exceptional show, and if you haven't gotten your tickets yet, you'd better hurry because the run is selling out quickly. It's a must-see!
