National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) today announced that the highly anticipated American premiere of the Yiddish language Fiddler on the Roof, which began preview PERFORMANCES Off Broadway at the Museum of Jewish Heritage last week, will extend its run for an additional week through September 2 due to demand for tickets. The Press Opening takes place Sunday, July 15 and a VIP gala performance on Monday, July 16. Helmed by Academy Award and Tony Award winner Joel Grey, the acclaimed musical is being presented now for an 9-week limited engagement through September 2.

Transport Group has announced its 2018-2019 mainstage season of two productions: Renascence, a world premiere musical about a radical and reckless poet and The Trial of the Catonsville Nine, a play about the trial that sparked a national wave of Vietnam War resistance. Renascence will run October 5 - November 17, 2018 and The Trial of the Catonsville Nine will run January 16 - February 23, 2019. The production is set to officially open next Tuesday, July 17th at The Playroom Theater in the Heart of the Theatre District, 151 West 46 Street (just east of Seventh Ave.)

We recently caught up with Lauren Ward and Nathan Amzi while on a break from rehearsals for Prom Queen, a new musical based on the true story of Canadian teen Marc Hall who took his Catholic school board to court when they wouldn't let him attend prom with his boyfriend. The show will receive a workshop presentation at The Other Palace on 2 July.
