CCM to Open Spring Choral Series, 2/8

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's (CCM) Department of Choral Studies presents a strikingly diverse and unique series of concerts this spring.

BWW Reviews: A CASE NAMED FREUD Completes Savyon Liebrecht's Trilogy

In commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 70th Anniversary of World War II, Goethe-Institut Boston's German Stage, in association with the Austrian Cultural Forum New York and Israeli Stage, presents the American Premiere of A CASE NAMED FREUD in five locations this week. The opening night staged reading marked the tenth German Stage production since 2012 and provided a backdrop to the farewell for Goethe-Institut Director Detlef Gericke who has served in Boston for six years.

The Players Theatre to Present World Premiere of 'KNOCK,' Begin. 3/4

Lost & Found Project, an edgy ensemble of next generation storytellers, curates a world premiere of KNOCK: A Journey to a Strange Country, a new play inspired by writings of the Russian avant-garde absurdist Daniil Kharms. KNOCK is written and presented by the award-winning Lost & Found Project, a division of National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) FolksbieneRU. Eleven performances will be staged at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street, in New York, N.Y., from March 4-22, 2015.

Israeli Stage Brings Back OH GOD; Show Tours Across Five States This Month

In October, Israeli Stage will be bringing back its most popular play, Anat Gov's hilarious and poignant Oh God to ten locations across Five States (CT, MA, MD, NH, NY). In this witty, poignant and touching play, a psychotherapist named Ella (Maureen Keiller*), single mother of an autistic child, gets a visit from a new, desperate patient, God (Will Lyman*).

Announcing CCM's 2014-15 Concert Series

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) has announced initial details on its 2014-15 Concert Series. Encompassing over 50 different concerts, this series begins with a performance by the internationally acclaimed Ariel Quartet with legendary guest artist Menahem Pressler on Sept. 9, 2014, and concludes with a number of performances by CCM's Preparatory Department running May 1 - 9, 2015.

Haifa Symphony Orchestra of Israel Set for Jorgensen, 2/13

The Haifa Symphony Orchestra of Israel, with solo pianist Roman Rabinovich, will perform the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-Flat Minor at Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014. The program, under the direction of Maestro Boguslaw Dawidow, will also include pieces by Weber and Dvorak. Glenn Stanley, a music historian in the UConn Music Department, will discuss musical points of interest at 6:45 p.m.

PAULUS Plays Silk Road Rising, Now thru 12/15

Silk Road Rising co-founders, Artistic Director Jamil Khoury and Executive Director Malik Gillani, present the World Premiere of Motti Lerner's Paulus. All performances will be presented in the company's venue in Pierce Hall at The Historic Chicago Temple Building at 77 W. Washington St. in Chicago. Paulus runs tonight, November 7 - December 15, 2013. Written by Motti Lerner and translated by Hillel Halkin, the show is directed by Jimmy McDermott.

Marin Theatre Now Booking for 2014 School Tour of RAPUNZEL, 1/13-2/7

Marin Theatre Company is now booking for its 2014 School Tour of Rapunzel, written by Mike Kenny, directed by Daunielle Rasmussen, MTC's Director of Education, and featuring actors Tristan Cunningham, Britney Frazier and Julianna Rees. Now in its seventh year, MTC's School Tour program brings professional theater productions to Bay Area elementary schools and libraries. Bookings for Rapunzel are available from January 13 through February 7, 2014.
