Philadelphia, PA (March 3, 2016) – Pennsylvania Ballet's Artistic Director, Angel Corella, has announced the repertoire for the 2016-2017 Season. The Company's 53rd Season will be the second to have all performances selected by Corella. With the 2016-2017 Season, Corella continues to raise the level of dance and broaden the scope of programming for Pennsylvania Ballet.
When the Sadler's Wells (now the Royal Ballet) first performed "Cinderella" on its triumphant 1949 debut performance at the old Metropolitan Opera, John Martin, the eminent New York Times dance critic, was not engrossed. He wrote that it was difficult to be enthusiastic about it, but "if it were stripped of all its dead wood, both musical and choreographic, it would run considerably less than the two and a half hours it now undertakes to fill."
The School of American Ballet's Workshop Performance Benefit 2015 on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 raised more than $890,000 for scholarships and school programs. The evening began with cocktails at 5:30pm in Juilliard's Morse Hall, followed by the performance at 7pm in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at Lincoln Center, and concluded with a seated dinner at 9pm at the Mandarin Oriental. The evening celebrated the legendary Rudolf Nureyev and commemorated the 20th Anniversary of the Rudolf Nureyev Dance Scholarship.

New York City Ballet's 2013 Spring Season will open with a three-week American Music Festival featuring 25 ballets and music by 17 American composers. This festival will also mark the 25th anniversary of the 1998 American Music Festival, during which NYCB presented more than 20 new works to the music of American composers.
