Project Broadway returns to Symphony Space

After a hugely successful repeat run of KINKY BOOTS, Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group continues its 2018 season with two highly anticipated productions, the critically acclaimed musical SIDE SHOW, and the hit Broadway musical WAITRESS, which continues to play to sold-out crowds in New York City and on U.S. National Tour.

Pint of Wine Theatre Company, a new fringe theatre company, will present its inaugural production Let the Debauchery Begin, a cabaret about 'pushing the limits'. The event will take place April 18 and 19 at the iconic Bussey Building in Peckham.

Later tonight, Hollywood royalty will gather at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to salute the greatest achievements of the year in motion pictures. A regional premiere, Side Show, by Bill Russell with music by Henry Krieger, is based on the true story of conjoined twins Violet and Daisy Hilton, who became stars during the Depression. It is a moving portrait of two women literally joined at the hip, whose extraordinary bondage brings them fame but denies them love. The show follows their progression from England to America, around the vaudeville circuit and ultimately to Hollywood on the eve of their appearance in the 1932 movie Freaks. With a completely reworked plot and new songs, the 2014 revival version delves deeper into the backstory of the Hilton twins. As the twins' forge a relationship with Harry Houdini and face potential separation surgery, the book and lyrics by Bill Russell fleshes out characters and situations that endow Henry Krieger's music with more sophistication and truth. Side Show shines a spotlight on marginalized members of society, taking center stage in their own lives and dealing with mainstream emotions of love, success, suffering - and finally - acceptance. LZP Productions brings the cult classic Side Show, book and lyrics by Bill Russell and music by Henry Krieger. Side Show will be performed at Cutting Hall Theater, 150 E Wood Street, Palatine, IL, from March 3rd through March 11th. Performances are: March 3, 9, 10 at 8 pm; March 4, 11 at 3 pm.

As the starring act of a 1930's Side Show, helmed by an abusive ringmaster, conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton are eager to accept an offer of fame, fortune, and potential romance proffered by Terry, a talent scout, and Buddy, a budding entertainer. As stars of the Orpheum Circuit, it seems that Daisy and Violet have everything they ever wanted. The one thing they lack, however, is the fulfillment of their hearts' desires.

To celebrate a new cast and its second year in the West End, Sonia Friedman Productions has today released brand new production photography for the critically acclaimed, multi award-winning musical Dreamgirls at the Savoy Theatre in London, which is currently booking through to 2nd June 2018.

Marisha Wallace is taking over the role of Effie White, alongside Moya Angela and Karen May, in the West End Dreamgirls from 20 November, after being one of the Effie alternates. She's also performing two London concerts at Charing Cross Theatre on 3 December to celebrate the release of her debut album, Soul Holiday.

Sonia Friedman Productions has just announced that the UK premiere of Dreamgirls, which opened last December at the Savoy Theatre to widespread critical acclaim, will extend booking through to 2nd June 2018.

Opening their 41st season in tremendous style, the Noel S. Ruiz Theatre at CM Performing Arts Center offers a superb production of the Tony winning musical Dreamgirls. Running through October 1st at the Oakdale venue, this incarnation boasts a stupendous cast who are absolute naturals in their respective roles. Excellently directed by CM Artistic Director Patrick Grossman (who also serves as Choreographer and Set Designer), the show is certainly a must see for the fall season.
