Back in 2006 a small road-trip film about a dysfunctional family, the Hoovers - who set off on a trek to a children's beauty pageant was released to audiences in the US.

As part of its yearlong commitment to addressing the health and longevity of Chicago's dance industry,See Chicago Dance (SCD), the city's nonprofit service organization, hosts a Day of Dancer Health on Monday, April 22 at the Menomonee Club Drucker Center, 1535 N. Dayton Street, Chicago. This special event is a highlight of the seventh annual Chicago Dance Month.

The greater Binghamton area's only professional, non-profit Equity theatre, Chenango River Theatre, will open their 2019 season on May 24 with a new play that is currently the most frequently produced play in the country, A Doll's House, Part 2.  Following that production is the World Premiere of a new comedy about an Irish Catholic family in 1973, Incident at Our Lady of Perpetual Help.  The Immigrant, based on the true story of the author's own family who became the only Jewish family in town when they immigrated to Hamilton, Texas in 1909, runs in the late summer slot.  The season finale will be The Sea Horse, an unusual and volatile love story set in a dumpy waterfront bar of the same name.

Last night (6 March 2019), Andrew Lloyd Webber's award-winning show School of Rock - The Musical celebrated its 1000th performance in the West End at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. The French Institute Alliance Française celebrates the career of Isabelle Huppertpresenting a special evening with the iconic French actress and a CinéSalon series devoted to her on-screen work from March 5 to April 23. Dan Looney, Adam Paulden and Jason Haigh-Ellery for DLAP Entertainment present a brand-new UK tour of the Tony Award winning musical "CURTAINS" starring comedian Jason Manford. The production will open at Churchill Theatre, Bromley on the 4 October 2019 and will tour the UK and Ireland until 4 April 2020 where the production will complete its run at the Wolverhampton, Grand Theatre. Atlantic Theater Company is proud to announce that Little Known Facts at Atlantic, a live podcast hosted by Ilana Levine, will be returning as a full series this spring. Little Known Facts at Atlantic was originally presented as a one night only event featuring Atlantic Ensemble member Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson. Following the first event's success, three additional live podcasts have been announced.

POV today announced the acquisition of the U.S. broadcast rights for The Gospel of Eureka, directed by Michael Palmieri and Donal Mosher. The film will join the series' 32nd season, which kicks off on PBS in June 2019.

Deadline reports that NBC's This Is Us, which features younger versions of a variety of central characters, adds Randall's wife Beth to the mix.

Out of the Box Theatrics presents the Off-Broadway Premiere of THE PINK UNICORN by Elise Forier Edie. Directed by Amy Jones, this site-specific one-woman drama will star Tony Award-winner Alice Ripley (Next To Normal, Side Show, Sunset Boulevard). Previews begin May 9 at the Episcopal Actors' Guild with opening slated for May 15.

On 23 February 2019 Andrew Lloyd Webber's award-winning show School of Rock - The Musical will welcome a new kids cast to join Dewey's band and embrace the power of rock! The hit West End production, based on the iconic film of the same title which this month celebrated 15 years since its UK release, is now booking to January 2020 at the Gillian Lynne Theatre and on 6 March will celebrate 1000 performances.

South Coast Repertory Artistic Director David Ivers and Managing Director Paula Tomei today announced the lineup for the 2019 Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF). The annual showcase of new works kicks off on April 26 with a concert reading of a new musical adaptation of Prelude to a Kiss, directed by Ivers in his directorial debut as SCR's artistic director.
