IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A LIVE RADIO PLAY.....a perfect time for a perfect holiday performance

Fresh from the success of their critically acclaimed run of SPONGEBOB THE MUSICAL, Tidewater Players is ringing in the holiday season with a fresh take on the beloved Frank Capra film classic 'It's A Wonderful Life'.

In remounting playwright Joe Landry's live radio play version of the beloved classic IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, Portland Stage serves up a family friendly show filled with all the sweetness and nostalgia that make the holidays memorable. The production, directed and designed by Anita Stewart, tells the tale of George Bailey with warmth and humor, underscoring effectively the messages of kindness, gratitude, and integrity without ever becoming saccharine.

Executive and Artistic Director Keith Gerth and Associate Artistic Director Stephen Smith announce Oil Lamp Theater's 2019 holiday show, It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry. This special presentation, directed by Keith Gerth, will be performed from November 29 through December 29, 2019 - with extra Saturday matinees and Sunday evening performances added -- at 1723 Glenview Road, Glenview.

Just in time for the holidays, the Provincetown Theater opens its final main stage production of the 2019 season with Joe Landry's unique adaptation of the beloved Frank Capra classic It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. Running Nov 21 thru Dec 8, as the title states, this iconic movie steps onto the stage as a live 1940s radio broadcast a?" complete with a real live Foley Artist. Performed by an acting ensemble of ten, bringing the many dozens of residents of Bedford Falls to life (not to mention Heaven!), the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers the relevance and meaning of his life one fateful Christmas Eve a?" thanks to the help of an angel-in-waiting named Clarence Oddbody.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey continues their 56thseason with the popular tradition of an Outdoor Stage production, this year featuring The Servant of Two Masters, directed by Doug West. The adaptation had its world premiere here in 2010 and was heralded as a "delicious production" by The New York Times. The Company's 96th Season will open Friday, September 7 with a gala double-bill performance of Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana and Ruggero Leoncavallo's Pagliacci in Jos Cura's production with an international cast featuring Lianna Haroutounian, Ekaterina Semenchuk, Roberto Aronica, Marco Berti and Dimitri Platanias, conducted by Daniele Callegari. To usher in the new opera season, San Francisco Opera Guild will produce its signature benefit event, Opera Ball 2018.
