BlackRock Center for the Arts, providing opportunities to explore, celebrate and engage in the arts, invites you to join us for an anniversary season to ignite your inner joy and love of the arts. To kick off this special 20th year, BlackRock will be celebrating an entire week with an artist reception and gallery opening on September 17, social media previews of the season during the week, and a culminating opening party on September 24, 2022 at 6:00 PM. 

More than a New York minute -- it's been a New York decade since one of NYC's favorite singers stepped into the spotlight here. PHILLIP OFFICER returns September 26 at 8:30pm to make his Birdland Theater debut with LET ME SING AND I'M HAPPY. Phillip built a commanding reputation for his musicality and commitment to lyrics.

New York City Opera will present Romance in Opera on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 7pm at Wollman Rink in Central Park. Stars of the New York City Opera stage bring romance to life, with love stories as passionate as the music itself.

The Orchestra Now, the visionary orchestra and master’s degree program founded by Bard College president, conductor, educator, and music historian Leon Botstein, returns to the stage for its eighth season on September 10, 2022.

CHELSEA TABLE + STAGE will present The Golden Girls Live: On Stage! on Saturday, September 24 at 9:30 PM. The show was created almost twenty years ago by Peter Mac and John Mac as a loving drag tribute to everyone's favorite sitcom.

Leapin’ Lizards! The full cast and creative team has been announced for the all-new tour of the iconic Tony Award®-winning musical ANNIE. In the title role of Annie is Ellie Pulsifer, a 12-year-old actress from South Florida, making her tour debut. 

Chicago will welcome back Amra-Faye Wright in the role of “Velma Kelly” and welcomes Brandon Victor Dixon in the role of “Billy Flynn” joining previously announced Angelica Ross as “Roxie Hart” starting Monday, September 12 at the Ambassador Theatre.

Universal Preservation Hall is announcing the first batch of shows coming in 2023. Tickets are available through the Box Office at Proctors, in person or via phone at 518-346-6204 Monday-Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. or online at UniversalPreservationHall.org starting Tuesday, September 6. Starting October 1, the Box Office at Proctors will extend their hours to include Saturdays. Groups of 10 or more can get their tickets by calling 518-382-3884, ext. 139.

The New York Pops, led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, is making its debut at Radio City Music Hall on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 8:00pm, joining Father John Misty on his international tour in support of his recently released album, Chloë and the Next 20th Century, out now worldwide on Sub Pop and in Europe on Bella Union.

BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB will present Julie Halston – the brilliant Tony Award-winning comedic actress – on Monday, October 17 at 7:00 PM. Ms. Halston returns to the Birdland stage – live and in person – after two-and-a-half years of global pandemic Zoom meetings and green screens.

Bergen Performing Arts Center has  announced the appointment of Alexander Diaz as the new Executive Director leading the organization to the future. Diaz was most recently Director of Education and Outreach at bergenPAC's Performing Arts School.

San Diego Opera will present the world premiere of Gabriela Lena Frank's El último sueño de Frida y Diego (The Last Dream of Frida and Diego) on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the San Diego Civic Theatre for four performances.
