Yiddish FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Extends Run

National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) today announced that the highly anticipated American premiere of the Yiddish language Fiddler on the Roof, which began preview PERFORMANCES Off Broadway at the Museum of Jewish Heritage last week, will extend its run for an additional week through September 2 due to demand for tickets. The Press Opening takes place Sunday, July 15 and a VIP gala performance on Monday, July 16. Helmed by Academy Award and Tony Award winner Joel Grey, the acclaimed musical is being presented now for an 9-week limited engagement through September 2.

Mary Courtney Joins Irish Festival At Gateway Playhouse

An Irish Cultural Festival brings a celebration of Irish dance, song, and storytelling to the Gateway Playhouse today, June 16. A dance performance by the Emerald Isle Academy of Irish Dance takes place from 4 to 5 pm, and a concert by songstress Mary Courtney and champion storyteller Marianne McShane follows at 7 pm. Tickets, which include admission to all performances that day, are $35 and $30, depending upon the seat selected. A wine and beer bar featuring local products will be available for an additional charge to patrons 21 years of age and older.
