In a rarity that doesn't happen too often here in Southern California, a brand new national tour of a recent hit Broadway musical has arrived first in Orange County in advance of a much longer sit-down engagement in Los Angeles. And, boy, is this one a marvelous gift from the comedy gods! Behold, ladies and gentlemen, the merry awesomeness that is SOMETHING ROTTEN!, the multi-Tony Award nominated musical comedy that kicks off Segerstrom Center for the Arts' 2017-2018 Broadway series! A delightful, seemingly non-stop conveyor belt of wit, hilarity, and outrageous high-jinks, this extremely funny 2015 original musical comedy will continue to slay audiences (in a good way) through November 19, 2017 in Costa Mesa.

Kingsley Leggs joins the cast of PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL as 'James Morse.' PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL also stars stage, television and film actress Samantha Barks as 'Vivian' opposite Tony Award winner and Grammy Award winner Steve Kazee as 'Edward,' with Tony Award nominee Orfeh as 'Kit,' Eric Anderson as 'Mr. Thompson,' and Jason Danieley as 'Philip Stuckey.' Based on one of the most beloved romantic comedies of all time, Garry Marshall's PRETTY WOMAN, the new musical will arrive on Broadway following its World Premiere stage production in Chicago in the spring of 2018.

Disney Theatrical Productions and Broadway in Cincinnati announced today that tickets for the long-awaited engagement of Disney's Aladdin are on sale now.

EW reports that Jake Shears, the lead singer of Scissor Sisters, and Kirstin Maldonado, Grammy-award winner for her work in the a capella group Pentatonix, will join the cast of Kinky Boots next year!

Casting is set for the Los Angeles engagement of the completely original new musical Something Rotten!, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw ( The Book of Mormon, Aladdin ), with music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Wayne Kirkpatrick and Golden Globe Award and Tony Award nominee Karey Kirkpatrick and a book by Tony Award nominees Karey Kirkpatrick and best-selling author John O'Farrell.

Sometimes I wait to pay attention to a certain musical until I can experience it fully. That was the case with Something Rotten!, currently on tour playing the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. I've been impatiently avoiding listening to the music since its release but let me tell you, the wait was worth it.
