The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training opens its 2021-2022 season with the thought-provoking play Everybody, by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. Directed by Conservatory Director Greg Leaming, the production marks the program's return to the Cook Theatre stage for the first time since early 2020. The show runs Nov. 3‚Äď21, with a preview on Nov. 2, and tickets are on sale now.

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory is presenting its first entirely online production, Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992, streaming from December 9 - 20, 2020. The show was originally announced to run from December 2 -13 but these dates have been shifted and the show will now be available from December 9 -20.

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory begins a new season with the classic Greek drama, Antigone, by Sophocles. Director of the Conservatory and the show, Greg Leaming, will put a modern spin on this ancient tale of right versus wrong. All twelve second-year students have a role in this show, playing from October 30 a?' November 17 in the Cook Theatre, with a pay-what-you-can (minimum $5) preview night on October 29.

I love going to the theatre to see a show I have never heard of before. I refuse to do any research prior to attending, not because I don't want to do my due diligence as a reviewer but because I love the magic of theatre.  Following a successful inaugural summer season in 2017, Dog Days Theatre will return to the FSU Center for Performing Arts with Joe Orton's farce What the Butler Saw and a modern adaptation of Henry James' The Turn of the Screw. The season opens on Thursday, July 12 and closes Sunday, August 26. Tickets may be purchased for $30 for either production separately, or a two-show season package is available for $55. Specially-priced previews and opening night receptions are also scheduled. The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training concludes its 2017-18 season with William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing: a classical comedy about two intellectual sparring partners, whose individual pride masks their true love. Much Ado About Nothing opens on Wednesday, April 18 and plays through May 5 at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota. A special pay-what-you-can preview performance will be offered to the public on Tuesday, April 17 at 8:00 p.m. with a $3 minimum. Much Ado About Nothing is made possible with support from the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation, the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, Sarasota Observer, and WUSF Public Media.
