The choices I have made are based solely on the plays and performances that I actually saw. I cannot see all the great talent that is out there in LA; it is physically impossible, as there exist far too many theatre/cabaret performances for one person to cover. So if a choice of yours is not on my list, chances are, I did not see that play or performance...or, it just did not make the final cut. I also do not separate Equity from Equity waiver; I consider all the productions/performances I select to be of top-of-the-line quality/professionalism.

Playwright Theresa Rebeck manifests a genuine dedication to the arts. In Mauritius she entered the world of painting and propagated an detailed appreciation of art collecting. Now in Seminar it is writing that takes center stage. Every writer who has heard 'You must write this. It must be told' needs to see this play for a million reasons, but... First, to see if you rightfully belong in the club, and if so, why you have to overcome the fear of sharing your work...and trust. With first rate direction from Sam Gold and a sparkling cast headed by Jeff Goldblum, Seminar not only entertains enormously but also makes you think seriously about where you are in your chosen field and where you ought to be. Get yourself quickly to the Mark Taper Forum through November 18 only!

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long present the world premiere of Through the Yellow Hour, a play written and directed by Adam Rapp (Pulitzer Prize finalist for Red Light Winter). Actors Aya Cash, Patrick Heusinger, Jennifer Ikeda and Greg Keller will join the previously announced Academy Award and Emmy Award-nominee Jeff Goldblum in the West Coast premiere of "Seminar" at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has just announced the Company for David Adjmi's new play, Marie Antoinette, directed by Rebecca Taichman, with choreography by Karole Armitage, in a co-production with Yale Repertory Theatre. The production begins previews on Saturday, September 1, and runs through Saturday, September 29, with press opening on Friday, September 7 at 7:00pm.

The Nora Theatre Company (Cambridge, MA) will present the World Premiere production of the new play Operation Epsilon by Alan Brody (The Housewives of Mannheim) at Central Square Theater in Cambridge, MA. The play will be directed by Tony Award-winning director/producer Andy Sandberg (Hair, The Last Smoker in America). No casting has been announced.

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced that WIT, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Margaret Edson, directed by Lynne Meadow will extend at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The limited engagement must close after the evening performance on Saturday, March 17.

Tonight, March 14, WIT director Lynne Meadow and Tony and Emmy Award winner Cynthia Nixon will appear on "The Charlie Rose Show." Meadow and Nixon will speak with Rose about the production currently playing at Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) through Saturday evening, March 17 only.
