Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), the theatrical union that unites, empowers, and protects professional stage directors and choreographers throughout the United States, announced Evan Yionoulis as Executive Board President.

Chita Rivera's two shows at Club Helsinki Saturday, November 16, 2019, have been cancelled. On doctors' orders, and as a result of an infection, Ms. Rivera must have bed rest for the next several weeks.  A new date for the shows will be announced soon.

The American Theatre Wing announces that it will celebrate the legacy of Jonathan Larson and the Larson family at its annual gala, dubbed 'Say YES to Artists Gala,' which will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Cipriani 42nd Street (110 East 42nd Street).

The Marcus Performing Arts Center's Broadway Bash is one of the hottest tickets in Milwaukee. The 14th Annual fundraiser will be held on Friday, June 14 and will feature a concert by Tony Award winner and Broadway Icon, Chita Rivera, in the Todd Wehr Theater. The stars were on their feet (toes, taps and standing ovations) on a warm Sunday night, May 19th, for the Chita Rivera Awards a?" an annual ceremony recognizing the very best in dance on Broadway, Off-Broadway and in film that honors icons and trailblazers while also nurturing future generations simultaneously. It could have been dubbed a?oeChita Rivera's Dance Salona?? for the presenters, attendees and honorees read like a Who's Who of Chita's friends, fans and fellow Fosse favorites, including hosts Ben Vereen and Anne Reinking.

Last week I went to the Drama Desk Award Nominations Reception at Green Room 42, here in NYC.  This is one of the last few events where you get to meet some of the newest folks doing theater OFF Broadway and On Broadway.  You also get a chance to chat to some of the actors who are nominated for this year's Tony Awards, as well.

The 2019 Chita Rivera Awards will be presented today, May 19, 2019 at 7:30pm at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place off Washington Square Park), and produced by Joe Lanteri, Founder and Executive Director of the New York City Dance Alliance Foundation, Inc. in conjunction with Patricia Watt.

Chicago is giving us a peek at all the razzle dazzle of the show's original 1975 production with this throwback to Broadway's original Velma Kelly, Chita Rivera, performing 'All That Jazz' choreographed by the legendary Bob Fosse! Check out the footage below!

It was announced today that The Radio City Rockettes will open this year's Chita Rivera Awards with a show stopping performance of 'New York, New York.' The Rockettes history with Chita Rivera dates back more than 30 years when the renowned precision dance company performed alongside Rivera in the 1988 tour of Can-Can.
