This socially distant installation experience is inspired by DEFINITION, an upcoming musical that takes a surrealist look at an African American woman's inner awakenings. 

DEFINITION is presented in partnership with The Bushwick Starr and will feature works from US-based artists within the mediums of: video, design, photography, painting, drawing, and other visual forms, speaking to the themes of Black women’s mental, physical, and sexual health.

The Lewis Center for the Arts' Program in Theater at Princeton University will present A Past Becomes a Heritage: The Negro Units of the Federal Theatre Project, an evening of play readings and a panel discussion in collaboration with New York City-based collective CLASSIX, on March 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Armie Hammer will star as 'Joe' in a Veterans Day benefit presentation of Sundogs, a new play by Howard Emanuel and directed by Heather Arnson. Sundogs will premiere on Play-PerView on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. EST, with a video-on-demand link available for immediate purchase and viewable beginning Monday, November 9.

On Friday, November 22, The Public officially opened the Mobile Unit's production of MEASURE FOR MEASURE directed by LA Williams.

In 1979 a strike by the New Orleans Police Department led to the city's official cancellation of that year's public Mardi Gras celebration. The people of New Orleans had something else in mind.

Mobile Unit's production of MEASURE FOR MEASURE opens today, Friday, November 22. Directed by LA Williams, the free sit-down run of MEASURE FOR MEASURE follows a three-week tour to correctional facilities, homeless shelters, social service organizations, and community centers in all five boroughs. MEASURE FOR MEASURE will run in the Shiva Theater through Sunday, December 8.

MEASURE FOR MEASURE will run through Sunday, December 8 with an official press opening on Friday, November 22.

Continuing its commitment to bringing free Shakespeare to the community and strengthening audience engagement with the arts, The Public Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham, will mount its MOBILE UNIT again this fall with a free three-week tour to venues across the city of Shakespeare's MEASURE FOR MEASURE, directed by LA Williams. The Mobile Unit's free tour (October 24-November 16) brings Shakespeare and other works to audiences who have limited or no access to the arts by visiting correctional facilities, homeless shelters, social service organizations, and other community organizations. Following the tour to the five boroughs, there will also be a free three-week engagement of MEASURE FOR MEASURE in The Public's Shiva Theater running Monday, November 18 through Sunday, December 8, with an official press opening on Friday, November 22.

Featuring Tony nominee Carmen Cusack and Eden Espinosa, the world premiere of the musical Lempicka is playing at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. The Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF) and The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF) unite to present the third annual Stand Up for Heroes: A Benefit for the Bob Woodruff Foundation at Town Hall in New York City at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 4th. Brian Williams will host Stand Up for Heroes, which will feature star performances by Louis C.K., Stephen Colbert, Lisa Lampanelli, John Ondrasik, Bruce Springsteen and other surprise guests. These and other A-list entertainers have agreed to Stand Up for Heroes and ReMIND our nation that 'Support our troops' is no longer a slogan. It's an action. The evening promises unforgettable performances, laughter, and sincere gratitude, with proceeds going to the BWF.
