Broadway & Amsterdam Ave.).

Bernadette Peters devotes her time and talents to numerous events that benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Peters' 'pet project' is Broadway Barks, which she co-founded with friend Mary Tyler Moore, which is an annual, star-studded dog and cat adoption event presented each summer in Shubert Alley, benefiting over two dozen rescue shelters throughout the New York City area. She recently added author and songwriter to her roster of achievements with her debut children's book Broadway Barks which debuted on The New York Times Bestseller list.

The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. This celebration of the 80th birthday of the great Broadway and film composer/lyricist will include his most enduring orchestral music and songs - performed, in some cases, by the stars of the original Broadway cast productions - in addition to rarely-heard material. Joining the celebration will be (in alphabetical order) Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, Jason Danieley, Nathan Gunn, George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, and others to be announced, including surprise guests. Paul Gemignani, Mr. Sondheim's longtime collaborator, will conduct the New York Philharmonic; Lonny Price is the director; and Mr. Price and Matt Cowart are the producers.

Broadway star, Tony, Grammy and Golden Globe Award winner, Bernadette Peters will pen a second children's book, Stella is a Star, set for publishing and release in the spring of 2010 by Blue Apple Books. The book, inspired by Peters' dog Stella, will feature illustrations by Liz Murphy. Proceeds will go to Broadway Barks, the charitable organization co-founded by Peters and Mary Tyler Moore over over 10 year ago in support of animal shelters.

The incomparable Chita Rivera released a new solo studio album entitled And Now I Swing on October 13, 2009 from the newly-launched Yellow Sound Label. From classic theater songs to jazz standards, all tracks featured on this new album have received new arrangements recorded by New York's finest musicians, reimagining some of Chita's favorite tunes. Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS has announced the exciting news that Broadway star, Tony, Grammy and Golden Globe Award winner, and long-time BC/EFA friend and Trustee Bernadette Peters will perform a special one night only concert 'Bernadette Peters: A Special Concert for Broadway Barks Because Broadway Cares' on Monday, November 9 at 8 PM at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre (1515 Broadway).

Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters will guest star on the popular talk show 'Live with Regis and Kelly' on Thursday, November 5th. Peters will discuss her upcoming performance at the Minskoff Theatre on November 9th. The concert will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS as well as Broadway Barks. The show will air on ABC (channel 7) in the NYC area from 9:00am to 10:00am EST.
