Carol Channing To Make Music Circus Debut 8/31 At Wells Fargo Pavilion

Carol Channing, star of stage and screen for most of the 20th century, will finally make her Music Circus debut in a benefit performance Monday, August 31, at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. 'Carol Channing and Friends,' a benefit in support of her Foundation for the Arts and for the nonprofit California Musical Theatre.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Nick Manos, President of Atlanta's Theater of the Stars about their upcoming production of 42nd Street which opens at the Fabulous Fox Theatre on Tuesday, July 28th and runs through Sunday, August 2nd and stars Loretta Swit. Mr. Manos shared with us a little about the production itself and what it takes to produce a show like this from the ground up.

Broadway legend Barbara Cook will return to the New York Philharmonic for a one-night-only performance Saturday, May 30, at 8:00 p.m., conducted by her acclaimed music director, Lee Musiker. Ms. Cook plans to bring to the Avery Fisher Hall stage songs she has never before performed with the New York Philharmonic, such as Stephen Sondheim's 'Send in the Clowns' from A Little Night Music, selections from Meredith Wilson?s The Music Man, and Sondheim?s ?No One Is Alone? from Into the Woods.

Tharon Musser, Legendary Lighting Designer, Dead at 84

Tharon Musser was universally considered the 'Dean of American Lighting Designers'. She graduated from Berea College in 1946 and attended Yale University before moving to New York City to begin her career. Her first Broadway lighting work was Jose Quintero's staging of Eugene O'Neill's Long Days Journey into Night (1956) at the original Helen Hayes Theatre.
