Bruce Joel Rubin wrote Ghost almost 25 years ago. Since then, it has been adapted as a musical with the help of Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard, who worked on the music and lyrics. When Ghost hit the silver screen back in 1990, Rubin never thought it would stand the test of time, let alone become a musical. Because of its unexpected success, Rubin has a few words he wanted to share.

Leading musical theatre licensor Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW), announces exclusive representation for stock and amateur rights for GHOST THE MUSICAL. When GHOST: THE MUSICAL opened on Broadway it was met by a bevy of critical slams and was plagued by technical issues that would stall the production. Now, the troubled movie turned musical turned theme-park ride is limping, zombie-like, across the nation in a Non-Equity National Tour. Luckily, the production is employing a handful of theatre professionals. In many ways, that is this overblown clunker of a show's only saving grace.

Atlantis Productions ('Addams Family,' 'Piaf'), whom Filipino theatergoers should thank for bringing the latest and hottest professionally licensed Broadway and London's West End shows to the Philippines for the past 15 years, will stage the Asia Pacific premiere of the Broadway and London's West End new musical GHOST on Friday, April 25, at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City, where the show will run for three weekends until Sunday, May 11.

The musical follows the plot of the Oscar-winning film Ghost and features a score written by Dave Stewart (one half of the 80s pop duo The Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard (co-writer with Alanis Morissette on the multi-platinum album Jagged Little Pill, among many other notable credits and collaborations). Recently, Brandon Curry, who plays the Subway Ghost, took some time out his busy tour schedule to talk to me about his career, GHOST: THE MUSICAL, and why Houston should be gearing up to see this production.
