Review Roundup: GHOST THE MUSICAL at White Plains Performing Arts Center

GHOST THE MUSICAL runs at White Plains performing Arts Center through October 29. The show follows Sam and Molly, a young couple whose connection takes a shocking turn after Sam's untimely death. Trapped between two worlds, Sam refuses to leave Molly when he learns she is in grave danger. Desperate to communicate with her, he turns to a storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, who helps him protect Molly and avenge his death.
GHOST has a book and lyrics by Bruce Joel Rubin, with music and lyrics by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard. It is based on the film of the same name written by Bruce Joel Rubin.
GHOST THE MUSICAL stars Natalie Weiss (American Idol, Wicked) as Molly, Steven G. Douglas as Sam, Wayne Shuker as Carl, Jaela Cheeks-Lomax as Clara, Ellisha Marie as Oda Mae, Greg Laucella as Subway Ghost, T.J. Newton as Willie Lopez, Kenya Hamilton as Louise, Kenneth Kyle Martinez as Hospital Ghost, and Chloe Kostman as Mrs. Santiago.
The show is directed by Joseph C. Walsh, with musical direction by Stephen Ferri, choreography by Lexie Fennell Frare, scenic design by Anna Beyersdofer, costume design by Molly Seidel, lighting design by Matthew Guminski, and projection design by Ian McClain.
Let's see what the critics had to say!
John Bailey, White Plains CitizeNetReporter: Ms. Weiss has according to the producers always wanted to do the role of Molly in Ghost, and based on the performance Sunday, it's her part... The other is Molly Seidel, Custume Designer for the show whose inspired and accurate creativity in costuming the 1980s, contributes to the menace of the Subway Ghost and the mugger, makes the scenes so much more real.
