From Salon To Stage Comes to Technopolis 20

The Australian mezzo soprano Miriam Sharrad (Opera Studio) and the pianist Adrian Sims met through their love of musical theatre. Three years on, they are thrilled to present Salon to Stage to audiences in London, Edinburgh, Cyprus and in 2020, Sydney and Adelaide. Salon to Stage originates in the salons of Duparc and Rachmaninov, then journeys through Gershwin on Broadway, to Mozart and Puccini opera. Punctuated by a piano solo, the evening of Sunday, 20th of October, 6pm, at Technopolis 20, should provide something for everyone!

Paulo Szot and Markus Brück share the role of Sharpless, and Elizabeth DeShong is Suzuki, alternating with Maria Zifchak. Pier Giorgio Morandi is on the podium for Anthony Minghella's sweeping production, a perennial audience favorite.

Con el aplauso y el reconocimiento del público, este viernes por la noche en el Palacio de Bellas Artes la Compañía Nacional de Ópera (CNO) del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL) inició las presentaciones de la ópera La Fanciulla del West, de Giacomo Puccini, en una puesta en escena, escenografía e iluminación de Sergio Vela y la dirección concertadora del italiano Marcello Mottadelli al frente de la Orquesta y Coro del Teatro de Bellas Artes.

Portland Opera Opens 55th Season With MADAMA BUTTERFLY

Portland Opera will mark the start of the 2019/20 season with Giacomo Puccini's powerful drama Madama Butterfly. This production will feature the U.S. debut of acclaimed soprano Hiromi Omura as the title character, a role she has sung with Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House, the Latvian National Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and The New National Theatre Tokyo. This piece tells the story of a young wife and mother named Cio-Cio-San, in Nagasaki, Japan, who waits for the return of her beloved B.F. Pinkerton, a lieutenant in the United States Navy. Written in 1903, and last seen on the Portland Opera stage in 2012, Puccini's stunning and emotional work continues to be one of the most popular operas performed in the United States. Portland Opera will present four performances of Madama Butterfly on October 25, 27, 31, and November 2 at the Keller Auditorium in downtown Portland.

Imagine Project Announces Its Cast For The World Premiere Of THE TALE OF TURANDOT

Imagine Project has announced the cast for its inaugural production, The Tale of Turandot, a World Premiere running for two weekends at The Colony Theatre in Burbank, California, from Thursday, November 7, through Sunday, November 17, 2019, with Opening Night taking place on Friday, November 8. The cast will include Joe DeSoto as Arlekino, Matthew Henerson as Pedrolino, Mueen Jahan as Pantaloon, Makha Mthembu as Smeraldina, Arianne Villareal as Isabella and Aviva Pressman who will play Colombina. Inspired by the centuries-old story, Armina LaManna wrote and will direct this family friendly production, which is geared toward children between the ages of four and twelve years old. BWW Review: LA BOHEME at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion

Los Angeles Opera opened its 2019-2020 season with Barrie Kosky's production of that most popular of operas, Giacomo Puccini's LA BOHEME. With minimal scenery from Rufus Didwiszus, Kosky's cast made the audience believe they were in the garret and at the toll gate. Only the scenery for the Café Momus was completely fleshed out.

The Royal Opera House Announces Its 2019/20 Cinema Season

The Royal Opera House today announces its 2019/20 Cinema Season which will launch in October. 13 productions will be broadcast to 600 UK cinemas stretching the length of the UK from the Orkney Islands all the way to Jersey in the Channel Islands.

Michigan Opera Theatre (MOT) is adding Michael Ching's a?oeBuoso's Ghosta?? as a second opera to its a?oeGianni Schicchia?? performances Feb. 29 a?" March 1. The work is a sequel to Giacomo Puccini's a?oeGianni Schicchi,a?? often nicknamed the a?oeSchiquel.a?? Both works are one-act comedies and will be performed by the resident artists of the Michigan Opera Theatre Studio. a?oeBuoso's Ghosta?? premiered in 1996 in Pittsburgh, 78 years after its predecessor.

Verdi Treasures from Milan's Ricordi Archive Make U.S. Debut

Rare testimonies to the history of Italian opera from the Milan-based, Bertelsmann-owned Ricordi Archive will now be shown in the United States for the first time. Fans of classical music and literature can look forward to the exhibition “Verdi: Creating Otello and Falstaff – Highlights from the Ricordi Archive”, which will be on view at the renowned Morgan Library & Museum in New York from September 6, 2019 to January 5, 2020.
