New Musical LAUGH WHILE YOU CAN Comes to Torn Page This Weekend

A studio presentation of a?oeLaugh While You Can,a?? a new musical by Celine Carroll and Fiona Looney directed by the internationally celebrated director Ray Yeates, will be seen as part of the 2020 Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival in three performances this weekend.  Music direction is by veteran Broadway music director Jeffrey Saver.

LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST Final Three Performances This Weekend At Gene Frankel Theatre

Thomas G. Waites' rocking adaptation of one of Shakespeare's rarely-performed comedies will play its final three performances this weekend. The hippie lovefest of this re-worked Love's Labour's Lost continues at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street, between Lafayette and Bowery) from October 24-26 at 8pm. The production, featuring a cast full of bright young talent, is made possible with the generous support of The Jeff Hunter Charitable Trust. Tickets, priced at $25 for general admission and $15 for students and seniors, are available online at https://loveslabourstgw.bpt.me/.

Alexander Carney's HENSLOWE Premieres In NYC

Alexander Carney's new play, HENSLOWE! will have its world premiere at Torn Page - the historic home of Geraldine Page and RIP Torn - located at 435 West 22nd Street, NYC. Performing October 1 -5 at 7:30 p.m. and October 6 at 2:00 p.m. $20 suggested donation.

LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST Meets Woodstock 50 At Gene Frankel Theatre

Echoing the sentiments of the world's greatest rock concert on its 50th anniversary,Thomas G. Waites transports the tenderness and philanthropy of LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST to the era of enlightened love and transformative music. Presented with the generous support of The Jeff Hunter Charitable Trust, a cast brimming with emerging New York talent will bring the timeless verse of Shakespeare and enduring music of Woodstock to the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street, between Lafayette and Bowery) for a limited engagement from October 3-26. Broadway Press Agent Bob Ullman Passes Away at 97

Robert ('Bob') Ullman (left), the legendary theatre press agent, whose career included Ethel Merman and Mary Martin: Together on Broadway, A Chorus Line (from workshop to Public Theater to Broadway), Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne in The Visit, Lauren Bacall in Cactus Flower, The Dining Room, Driving Miss Daisy, Sunday in the Park with George, and over 150 additional Broadway and off-Broadway plays and musicals, died on July 31, 2019 in Bayshore, Long Island, New York. He was 97. The cause of death was cardiac arrest. Bob's death was announced by Rev. Joshua Ellis, a long-time Ullman friend, a former Broadway press agent, and now, an Interspiritual minister.

The Civilians, under the leadership of Founding Artistic Director Steve Cosson and Managing Director Margaret Moll, is proud to present the world premiere of Paul Swan is Dead and Gone by Claire Kiechel, a former member of The Civilians' R&D Group where the play was first developed. Directed by Cosson and starring Tony Torn as the real-life Paul Swan, the production marks Kiechel's New York debut and runs April 25 - May 19, with an opening night set for May 1. For an audience of only 30, the intimate and immersive performance takes place at Torn Page (435 West 22nd Street, Manhattan), a salon-style performance space located inside a historic Chelsea townhouse originally purchased by Torn's parents, Geraldine Page and Rip Torn.

GREATER TUNA, Starring Founder Chuck Yates, Concludes Coyote Stageworks Tenth Anniversary Season The Annenberg

Coyote StageWorks, the Coachella Valley-based award-winning Actors' Equity professional theater company, will conclude its Tenth Anniversary season with the comedy "Greater Tuna" that will run for nine performances from March 22-31, 2019 at the Palm Springs Art Museum's Annenberg Theater.  "Greater Tuna" is a hilarious send-up of small-town morals and mores. Set in a fictional small town in Texas, this popular comedy stars two skillful, transformative actors who will take on 22 roles as they portray the town's wacky inhabitants. "Greater Tuna" was written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard and will star Alan Denny and Chuck Yates. The production will be directed by Larry Raben. "Greater Tuna" was the very first production Coyote StageWorks mounted ten years ago.

Jean-Claude van Itallie's THE FAT LADY SINGS Will Have World Premiere at La Mama, Starring Lauren Flanigan and Tony Torn

La MaMa presents the premiere of legendary playwright Jean-Claude van Itallie's The Fat Lady Sings at La MaMa's Downstairs Theater (66 East 4th Street). Directed by Drama Desk Award winner David Schweizer, the production is scheduled to begin previews on March 21, 2019, with an opening night on March 25, 2019 (running run through April 7, 2019). The cast will feature New York City Opera sensation, Lauren Flanigan, and actor, Tony Torn, known for his celebrated experimental theater work. They will be joined by Jake Horowitz, Nancy McArthur and Jose Useche.
