Three World Premieres Will Take Place in The Washington Chorus 2021-2022 Season

TWC will present or collaborate on three world premieres in the 2021-2022 season; Adolphus Hailstork's “A Knee on the Neck, a Requiem cantata for George Floyd,” written in response to the death of George Floyd, Damien Geter's “Symphony no. 1: The Justice Symphony” commemorating anthems from the Civil Rights era, and Roshanne Etezady's “Become The Sky” with texts by the 13th-Century Persian poet Rumi in a prologue for chorus, orchestral brass, and percussion.

NJSO Announces Outdoor Parks Concerts For August

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra has announced a series of outdoor concerts featuring music from composers across the Americas, with José Luis Domínguez at the podium. The Orchestra performs free concerts at Ocean County College in Toms River and Branch Brook Park in Newark and it returns to the Giralda Music and Arts Festival in Madison.

The Catalyst Quartet will return to Lot of Strings after a triumphant performance of their rendition of Bach’s Goldberg Variations and Philip Glass’s String Quartet No. 3 last Summer. On May 16th, the program will include two pieces by Florence Price, Negro Folksongs in Counterpoint and String Quartet No. 2 in A Minor, and George Walker's Lyric for Strings.
