Pivot Arts launches a new celebration of innovative theater, music and dance in unique and often historic spaces from today, June 6 - 22, 2013 throughout Chicago's Uptown and Edgewater neighborhoods. The inaugural PIVOT MULTI-ARTS FESTIVAL answers the City's call for a reinvigorated Uptown Entertainment District by uniting artists, businesses and local organizations around multidisciplinary 'pop-up' performances occurring in a former Vaudeville Theater, an at-one-time Charlie Chaplin film studio and other historic spaces throughout these communities.

Paper Mill Playhouse hosted the 18th Annual Rising Star Awards - Presented by the Investors Foundation -tonight, June 4th at the Millburn Theater. Schools nominated for Outstanding Overall Production and Leading Actor/Actress nominees performed at the event and award recipients were presented with a crystal award from Tiffany & Co. Summit High School came out on top, winning Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical. A total of 31 awards were presented along with five scholarships and other cash prizes. Paper Mill Playhouse presents Disney's The Little Mermaid, based on the classic animated film of the same title. The American premiere of this brand new production will feature a revamped script, additional songs, a new physical production and an entirely fresh interpretation of the piece. Not long after the Sacramento opening night performance of Les Miserables, producers officially confirmed plans to take the 25th anniversary production to Broadway next March. The announcement will come as no surprise to those who have witnessed the grandeur of the reimagined sets and slightly updated score. While many will miss the rotating stage of the original production, Wednesday night's standing ovation and the success of last year's film version of the musical, not to mention all the regional performances that are popping up everywhere, attest to its epic standing in the Broadway World.

ABC Studios Announce New 2013-2014 Series Orders

ABC Studios had another banner development year with nine new shows ordered to series. New dramas "Betrayal," "Killer Women," "Lucky 7," "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland," "Resurrection," along with new comedies "Trophy Wife" and "Mixology," were picked up at ABC. New drama "Intelligence" was ordered at CBS. ABC Studios had the most drama orders of any studio.
