Yesterday, 106.7 Lite FM presented the return of its much-anticipated, annual lunchtime theatre summer series, '106.7 Lite FM's Broadway in Bryant Park.' The 2013 program will present the best of Broadway, FREE to the public, on six consecutive Thursdays beginning July 11 at 12:30 p.m. on the Bryant Park Stage. Hosted by Lite FM's on-air personalities, the 13thannual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances will run through August 15. Sierra Boggess & Caissie Levy Join EMERGING FEMALE COMPOSERS Concert, 7/15

Sierra Boggess and Caissie Levy join the previously announced Erin Davie, Lesli Margherita, Christiane Noll, Alice Ripley, Krysta Rodriguez, and Betsy Wolfe for Sparkification Productions presents An Evening Celebrating Emerging Female Composers: a concert to promote gender parity in musical theatre. The July 15th concert will feature the songs of Jennifer Lucy Cook, Shoshana Greenberg, Kathryn Hathaway, Janine McGuire, Julia Meinwald, Nicky Phillips and Sarah M. Underwood with contributions by Carmel Dean, Laura Kleinbaum, Tina Lear, Gordon Leary, Jeffery Dennis Smith, and Stephanie Smith. The evening features Musical Direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell.

Tony-Winning VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE Recoups Broadway Investment!

Soon after it won the Tony Award for Best Play, Christopher Durang's new comedy, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike extended its premiere Broadway engagement at the Golden Theatre. With this second and final extension, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will now end its run Sunday, August 25 (it was originally scheduled to end its run on Sunday, June 30). Now according to the New York Times, it has officially recouped its Broadway investment of $2.75 million. It joins a small list of plays from this season that have recouped, including The Heiress, Glengarry Glen Ross, Lucky Guy, and I'll Eat You Last.

Les Miserables, Cameron Mackintosh's new 25th anniversary production of the world's longest running musical, runs at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis for one week only, July 30-August 4, 2013.

Roxy Regional Theatre to Set Sail with SOUTH PACIFIC, Begin. 7/12

Set sail for SOUTH PACIFIC this summer with the Roxy Regional Theatre, Clarksville's oldest live theatre and only professional theatre. Starring powerhouse vocalists John Boehr and Alicia Kelly as Emile de Becque and Nellie Forbush, the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic will close out the Roxy's 30th Anniversary Season, beginning Friday, July 12, at 8pm.

Tony-Winning VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE On Track to Recoup

Soon after it won the Tony Award for Best Play, Christopher Durang's new comedy, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike extended its premiere Broadway engagement at the Golden Theatre. With this second and final extension, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will now end its run Sunday, August 25 (it was originally scheduled to end its run on Sunday, June 30). Now according to Bloomberg, the show is on track to recoup it $2.2 million Broadway investment by the end of the month. Lead producer Joey Parnes commented that it 'might even be sooner.'

Gingold Theatrical Group's PROJECT SHAW presented Bernard Shaw's madcap comedy TOO TRUE TO BE GOOD at The Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan. David Staller produced and directed. In TOO TRUE TO BE GOOD, a glamorous pair of jewel thieves (Charles Busch and Robert Cuccioli) convince a chronic young convalescent (Ryann Redmond) to steal her own jewels and run away with them to a tropical paradise. Her over-protective mother (Jackie Hoffman) comes chasing after them and a riotous time is had by all. This is Shaw's 1931 madcap high-comedy journey, which takes on fad diets, the medical profession, the military, war, religion, and sex. It's a short and lively comedic lark.

Getty Museum and CNP Present PROMETHEUS BOUND, 8/29

This September, the Getty Museum and CalArts' Center for New Performance (CNP), in association with Trans Arts, will presentPrometheus Bound, the eighth annual outdoor theater production in the Getty Villa's Barbara and Lawrence Fleischman Theater. Featuring a newly-translated text by noted poet and essayist Joel Agee, Prometheus Bound will be directed by Travis Preston, artistic director of CNP and dean of the CalArts School of Theater, and include original music by composer Ellen Reid and celebrated jazz multi-instrumentalist Vinny Golia (who will also perform live onstage).

Producers Joey Parnes and Larry Hirschhorn have announced that Christopher Durang's new comedy, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, which last night won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play, will again extend its premiere Broadway engagement at the Golden Theatre. With this second and final extension, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will now end its run Sunday, August 25 (it was originally scheduled to end its run on Sunday, June 30). The critically lauded play has swept the awards circuit this year, having now been named Best Play by every major theatrical awards organization including the aforementioned Tony Awards, the New York Drama Critics' Circle, the Drama Desk, the Drama League, and the Outer Critics Circle. Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike began performances on Tuesday, March 5 and opened on Thursday, March 14.
