Sundance Institute announced today the films selected for the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions and the out-of-competition NEXT <=> section of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, January 22 to February 1 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. The Festival is the centerpiece of the year-round public programs for the Institute, which also hosts 24 residency labs and grants more than $2.5 million to independent artists each year.
Shakespeare & Company has announced the 2014 Conservatory production of Romeo & Juliet, directed by Company artists Tori Rhoades and Jason Asprey. The production marks this year's culmination of the Company's three-month professional actor residency, and runs for three shows only in the Tina Packer Playhouse. Performances are Friday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday December 13 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students, students must be under 18 or show valid student ID.

A team of critics examine the ever-changing needs of their field, how their world has changed and how they predict their roles in the arts will continue to evolve.
This panel included Joe Dziemianowicz (NY Daily News), Adam Feldman (TimeOut NY), Frank Rizzo (Hartford Courant/Variety), David Rooney (The Hollywood Reporter), Elisabeth Vincentelli (New York Post), and Jason Zinoman (The New York Times), moderated by Frank Rizzo (Hartford Courant).

As George Bernard Shaw began his theatrical career as a critic and arts journalist, GTG presents this annual forum for critics to meet and discuss their world in front of an audience.
This event was part of Gingold Theatrical Group's Shaw New York 2014 festival, which includes the now-running production of Shaw's MAJOR BARBARA at the Pearl Theatre Company. GTG's Shaw Symposium will take place on Monday, December 8th at The Players. The festival's Shaw Concert (with the Tesla Quartet) happens on Monday, December 15th, also at The Players. The final festival event will feature a new play by Time Out New York's David Cote as part of GTG's Project Shaw series.

Randy Redd (currently featured in Allegro at Classic Stage Company) has been cast as the male lead opposite Marie Zamora in Manhattan Parisienne, a new play by Alain Boublil, the Tony Award-winning co-creator of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon, which will have its world premiere for a limited engagement from Thursday, December 18 through Sunday, January 4 at 59E59 Theaters. Also joining the cast of Manhattan Parisienne are Jeremy Cohen and Stephen Zinnato. Manhattan Parisienne will be directed by multi-Tony Award-nominated director/choreographer Graciela Daniele.

Based on the 2003 film starring Will Ferrell, Elf has a book byThomas Meehan and Bob Martin, music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. Elf will be directed by Eric Ankrimand choreographed by Josh Rhodes. Elf will run eight times a week at the Millburn, New Jersey, theater now through January 4, 2015.
