Shakespeare & Company has announced the 2014 Conservatory production of Romeo & Juliet, directed by Company artists Tori Rhoades and Jason Asprey. The production marks this year's culmination of the Company's three-month professional actor residency, and runs for three shows only in the Tina Packer Playhouse. Performances are Friday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday December 13 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students, students must be under 18 or show valid student ID.

Now in its eighth year, The Conservatory at Shakespeare & Company is a thirteen-week, academically accredited program, integrating a full range of disciplines, designed to prepare actors for careers as working professionals. The renowned program attracts students from across the United States and Canada for its in-depth training.

"Romeo & Juliet, resonates for this ensemble as a story of joy and loss, of youth and authority, of hate and love," says Director Tori Rhoades. "We are uncovering the story of a young girl who is clever, witty, authentic, and who is an excellent problem-solver. In our production, we find an adolescent girl who finds within herself an unyielding courage to trust what she knows and what she has learned through her experiences of living in relationship, however short-lived the elders may judge them to be."

This year's Conservatory participants include Gina Doherty, Amanda Goble, Steven Godoy, Genevieve Grady-Grot, Miles Harrison, Joan Ianni, Deborah Lagin, Zachary Lounsbury, Theresa Miller, Jeanine Thrasher, TAMIR and Kevin DeWitt.
