The Axelrod Performing Arts Center opens 'Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical' on Saturday, March 7, in a brand-new production created by Broadway director-choreographer Luis Salgado. 'Matilda' will run for three weekends through March 22.

Updated September 2023: Practically every child, at some point or another, has aspirations of being an actor. However, some children and their families decide to take steps to enter the professional world immediately! I was one of these kids, and I signed with my first agents and started auditioning when I was twelve years old. The world of auditioning and rejection can be a whirlwind for adult actors, let alone children and their parents! Rare--and in many cases, never-before-recorded--Irving Berlin love songs are the focus of Chip Deffaa's latest album, 'Irving Berlin Revisited,' being released today. 

'The Chip Deffaa Songbook'--a two-CD set, featuring nearly 40 theater-songs by ASCAP Award-winning playwright/songwriter  Chip Deffaa--will be released November 30th.  The album features songs that Deffaa wrote or co-wrote for such shows of his as 'Theater Boys,' 'The Seven Little Foys,' 'Mad About the Boy,' 'Yankee Doodle Dandy,' 'The Family That Sings Together,' 'The Fanny Brice Story,' 'Song-and-Dance Kids,' and 'George M. Cohan Tonight!'  

This past week, Broadway Workshop presented their 2nd annual benefit concert at NYC's famed supper club - Feinstein's/54 Below. This years show was entitled - SHOWS WE'LL NEVER DO featuring songs from musicals that Broadway Workshop will likely never produce including; Avenue Q, Gypsy. Into the Woods, The Color Purple, Grey Gardens, The Life, Heathers, Dear Evan Hansen, The Last 5 Years, Spring Awakening and Hamilton. BroadwayWorld has photos from the concert below!

On Saturday, December 19, 2015 a group of over 70 children including Broadway performers and friends joined together in NYC to raise their voices for peace in hopes to help end gun violence.  They created a flash mob sing-in demonstration first at Schnipper's restaurant in the heart of Broadway on 8th Avenue and 41st and then once again in Times Square.

On October 19th, 2014, Time To Shine Youth Cabaret will once again come together at Stage 72 to perform various popular show tunes, pop songs and more.

A Little Princess ran at the Hudson Guild Theatre, May 22-25, 2014. The production features Music and Lyrics by Marc Folan and Book by Adam Boden.
