Yesterday, December 3, Suzan-Lori Parks was honored with 2018 Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award.

New York Stage and Film has announced that Donja R. Love's soft will be the second installation in their NYC Reading Series at Barnard College, held on Monday, October 29th at 7:00pm at the Glicker-Milstein Theater at The Diana Center. Directed by Awoye Timpo, the cast of soft features Gabriel Diego Hernandez, Galen Ryan Kane, Obie and AUDELCO Award winner Russell G. Jones, Andy Lucien, Joshua E. Nelson, Cristina Pitter, Lortel Award nominee Namir Smallwood, Ryan Jamaal Swain, and James Udom.

The 2019 MFA Playwriting students at Brooklyn College - Tanya Everett, Eri Nox, Arika Larson and Cherry Lou Sy - will be presenting readings of their full-length plays. All shows will be at The Tank on Wednesdays and Fridays at 3 pm.

Keith Josef Adkins and Devin Haqq have assembled a spectacular cast for the private industry reading of their socially-charged horror screenplay The Night Man at United Talent Agency (UTA) in NYC on Monday, September 10th.

Manhattan Theatre Club's new Broadway production of Saint Joan written by Nobel Prize in Literature and Academy Award winner Bernard Shaw and directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan is now in its final two weeks of performances. The production is produced in association with Eddie Marks/Ostar. Today, Wednesday May 30, marks the Feast Day of Saint Joan - which celebrates her life and her sainthood.

Noor Theatre is thrilled to announce initial casting for its 4th annual 48 Hour Forum. The diverse roster of actors will each be randomly assigned to a playwright and director during the event. The most epic edition of New York's electronic music festival - ELECTRIC ZOO: THE BIG 10 ­- has added even more hard-hitting acts to its already star-studded lineup. For its tenth turn at Randall's Island Park in New York City August 31, September 1 & 2, event organizers MADE EVENT have today (April 30) announced its second phase talent-line up. Joining the festival's previously announced headliners KASKADE, MARSHMELLO, MARTIN GARRIX and VIRTUAL SELF in the celebrations will be EZoo alumnus ALESSO (who appeared in 2011, 2013 & 2015) and TIESTO (2011, 2012, 2013 & 2016).

Currently in previews at at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre is Manhattan Theatre Club's new Broadway production of Saint Joan, written by Nobel Prize in Literature and Academy Award winner Bernard Shaw and directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan (Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes, Proof). Starring three-time Tony Award nominee Condola Rashad (A Doll's House, Part 2; 'Billions'), Saint Joan will open on Wednesday, April 25, 2018.

Playwrights Amina Henry (Ducklings, The Animals), Sevan K. Greene (This Time), Michele Lowe (Sundance Institute Theatre Lab Artist-in-Residence), and Melisa Tien (Yellow Card Red Card), and directors Ralph Peña (Artistic Director of Ma-Yi Theater Company) and Ed Sylvanus Iskandar (The Mysteries, These Seven Sicknesses) join Noor Theatre's 3rd Annual 48 Hour Forum, a 48-hour play festival inspired by news events of the day.
