The Genesis Cinema screens everything from huge blockbusters to small indie films, cult classics to modern hidden gems, as well as hosting numerous film festivals, Q&As, premieres and talks – and in 2019 as part of the cinema's 20th anniversary year, the Genesis team created and programmed Fragments, their very own film festival.
These cafés are lighthearted meetups where everyone is welcome to join in a group reflection on our relationship to truth and lies, and to delve into the processes that influence the formation of their own personal narrative. For, from the myths of yesteryear, to our current ‘Fake News’, lies remain a formative element of human society.

This year's Literature Live! production will be Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, directed by Lydia Fort. Bay Street Theater is proud to present this classic work from the American Theater to both students and the general public in this, the sixtieth anniversary of the play's first production on Broadway. Public performances are Thursday-Saturday, November 14-16, 21-23 and Thanksgiving weekend Fridaya?"Sunday, November 29a?"December 1. Popular New York street artist Lady K-Fever will join more than 100 NYC public school students in the Bronx portion of what is one of the largest public displays of student art in New York City. LEAP's Rising Voices: Bronx Student Public Art Exhibition will be held Tuesday, June 19, at Claremont Park, 3:30 pm to 5 pm. The event location is in the northern end of Claremont Park, just south of the park house and gazebo. Students from six Bronx classes in three schools will display ordinary cafeteria tables turned into social justice murals advocating for issues of concern to the students.
