The 1928 Jewelry Co., maker of vintage-inspired fashion jewelry, signed a license with Downton Abbey to create a collection of jewelry and accessories inspired by the show. The brand was already familiar to “Downton Abbey's” costume designer Caroline McCall. “[McCall] mentioned that whenever they needed vintage jewelry in the U.K., they would go to a local department store and 1928 was always the go-to [brand],” Christina Lovejoy, 1928's design director, told WWD. “There was a lot of mutual respect there because we were already seeing our work on the show. It really was a fantastic match.”

In response to the national conversation surrounding Thatcher's death, Battersea's Theatre503 has invited a broad spectrum of writers including Dan Rebellato (CHEKOV IN HELL), Fraser Grace (BREAKFAST WITH MUGABE), Judy Upton (ASHES AND SAND) and Daily Telegraph theatre critic Dominic Cavendish (HACKED) to write a series of short plays looking back at Margaret Thatcher - the woman, the politics and her legacy. THATCHERWRITE will run from 11 - 15 June.
