Following a sold-out engagement in April 2015, Feinstein's at the Nikko welcomes back Grammy Award-winning vocalist, Steve Tyrell, for four performances only: Thursday, March 10 (8 p.m.); Friday, March 11 (8 p.m.); Saturday, March 12 (7 p.m.) and Sunday, March 13 (3 p.m.).

Legendary entertainer Tony Bennett will be honored by the Friars Club in celebration of his storied career that has spanned 7 decades. The awards gala will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 in New York City. The award-winning performer, who has been a Friar for more than 50 years, will receive the Club's most prestigious accolade: The Entertainment Icon Award.

In a prelude to their upcoming January 18th NYC concert at the Highline Ballroom the Nunziata brothers performed a show for a 'jury of their peers' at the legendary Friars Club last night and BroadwayWorld was there.   Check out the photos below.

A Sephardic-themed production of Shakespeare's MERCHANT OF VENICE -- with an added score of Jewish ladino songs -- debuts this month at the Center for Jewish History (15 W. 16 St.) in New York City.  MERCHANT is the first of three professional productions with Sephardic themes to be presented by American Sephardi Federation; subsequent productions include NABUCCO in April and OTHELLO in June.

Pop powerhouse quintet R5 kicked off their New Year's concerts at The Venetian Las Vegas on Tuesday, Dec. 29. 'Dancing with the Stars' fan favorite Mark Ballas opened the show with his newly formed band Alexander Jean, followed by an electrifying DJ set by R5 brother Ryland Lynch, which geared up the fans for a night of energizing hits from the pop rock sensations. On Monday evening, January 11, 2016, Steven Maglio kicks off the Friars Club Sinatra at 100 show, with a popular Sinatra signature song, the title of which is being kept a secret. The only hint Steven Maglio will give is that it's one of the songs in his regular Saturday night show at New York City's Carnegie Club.

The Desert Rose Playhouse, in Rancho Mirage, will present Tony Kushner's award winning play, ANGELS IN AMERICA, Part 1- MILLENNIUM APPROACHES, as its 2016 Gay Heritage production. Jim Strait directs the ensemble cast. The play will run for six weeks, from January 15, 2016 through February 21, 2016.

Today in 1940, Pal oey opened at Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Pal Joey is a musical with a book by John O'Hara (from his novel of the same title) and music and lyrics by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart based on a character and situations O'Hara created in a series of short stories published in The New Yorker. It includes two songs that have become standards: 'I Could Write a Book' and 'Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered'.

MAURICE HINES TAPPIN' THRU LIFE is a swinging, song and dance musical that celebrates the astonishing showmanship of one of the last great tap dancers of a by-gone era still working today and whose collaborators were a jaw-dropping, who's who of theatre, music, film and television. Co-starring the fierce tap dancing Manzari brothers and the all female vivacious Diva Jazz Orchestra, the show is directed by Jeff Calhoun (Newsies, Deaf West's Big River, Grease). On Tuesday, December 22 exciting singer Laura Dickinson brought her BIG BAND HOLIDAY to the El Portal Mainstage in NoHo. The house was SRO, and Dickinson, needless to say, accompanied by a 17-piece band, knocked it out of the park. When I reviewed her CD release party a year ago at Vitello's I noted, 'She blew the roof off the joint with her dynamic delivery, oozing charm and warmth from every pore. Not only is she beautiful, but oh so terribly engaging as she grabs hold of you and won't let go. She's been called 'masterful'; I'll go a step further and add 'captivating and spellbinding'. Back by popular demand, ON KENTUCKY AVENUE: A Celebration of Atlantic City's Historic Club Harlem returns to City College's performing arts center Aaron Davis Hall on Friday, February 19, for a three-day encore engagement. The show, which shines a red-hot spotlight on a little-known piece of Black history, is presented by the City College Center for the Arts (CCCA) and Byron and Sylvia Lewis. An audience favorite, last February, the production was created by Jeree Wade and directed and written by Adam Wade with Ty Stephens. Scroll down for a sneak peek at the show!
