On Monday, March 11, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) held its annual gala benefit concert & dinner at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in NYC.  See photos from the event.

In one of New York's jolliest musical celebrations of the holiday season, the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC), under the direction of YPC Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez and Creative Director Elizabeth Núñez, will spread the joy of the season with “A Very Merry New York,” its 2022 winter holiday concert to be held in Lincoln Center's newly reimagined David Geffen Hall on Sunday, December 11 at 5 p.m.

The world-renowned Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC), led by Founder and Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez, will join fellow Grammy nominee Voices of Ascension, under the direction of Artistic Director and Conductor Dennis Keene, to present Paola Prestini's The Glass Box.

Francisco J. Núñez, MacArthur Fellow, Musical America's 2018 Educator of the Year, composer, conductor, leading figure in music education, and the artistic director/founder of the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC), will present the world premiere of his new work, MAP: A New World, at The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York City on Saturday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m.

Voices of Ascension, under the direction of Artistic Director and Conductor Dennis Keene, will present Paola Prestini’s The Glass Box with the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, led by Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez, on January 27, 2022 at the Church of the Ascension.

On Thursday, June 11, at 7:00 p.m. (EDT) the Young People's Chorus of New York City under the direction of Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez will present a digital spring concert, a?oeFORWARD TOGETHER.a?? Driven by its commitment to meet where the children are and move forward together to create an authentic and artistic expression, YPC's annual spring concert will proceed as a special digital viewing event that features favorite works from the season, plus several world premieres.

Today, the Young People's Chorus of New York City released a?oe9 to 5/Footloose,a?? the second music video in YPC's new Heroes virtual album. Introduced last week with a?oeYou'll Never Walk Alone,a?? the album was conceived for the children by YPC Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez as a thank-you to New York City's essential workers, all of  whom are helping the rest of us stay safe.

Young People's Chorus of New York City® (YPC), led by Founder and Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez, will return to Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall on Tuesday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. for the chorus' 32nd annual Gala Concert, this year in honor of composer and philanthropist Gordon Getty. Hosted by multiple Grammy Award-winning artist Jason Mraz, the event recognizes Mr. Getty as a YPC Legacy Honoree for his shared commitment to and efforts on behalf of making music education accessible to young people of all backgrounds. Young People's Chorus of New York City® (YPC) celebrates the holidays with a variety of performances citywide, including the annual YPC Winter Wonder concert, a New York holiday tradition beloved by families across the city. Led by YPC Founder / Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez and Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Núñez, this year's Winter Wonder concert takes place at Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall on Sunday, December 8, at 4:00 p.m. and features Metropolitan Opera star Nadine Sierra and dramatic baritone Lester Lynch.

This past spring, Francisco J. Núñez, artistic director and founder of the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC), announced the newest milestone in the chorus's renowned 30-year history: the formation of YPC National, Inc. an independent non-profit organization to support and inspire youth choruses across the country with a program of artistic excellence, diversity, and education modeled on YPC.  

Musical America has named Francisco J. N ez, artistic director and founder of the Young People's Chorus of New York City, its 2018 Educator of the Year.

Francisco J. N ez, Artistic Director and Founder of the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC), was today announced as the recipient of Musical America's Educator of the Year award.

The Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC), led by Artistic Director and Founder Francisco J. N ez, debuts at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in the New York premiere of composer Ben Moore and librettist Kelley Rourke's Odyssey: A Youth Opera, an hour-long re-telling of Homer's epic. This new, fully staged and costumed production incorporates video imagery from the Museum's extensive collection including images of ancient Greek art and artifacts to create thematic links to the action on stage. The production is directed and choreographed by Eric Sean Fogel, with video and projection design by S. Katy Tucker. Three performances, presented as part of the Museum's MetLiveArts series, will be held at The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium on Friday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 4 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

American composer Michael Gordon has been named the first-ever Composer-in-Residence of the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC). The three-year residency, beginning this month, will comprise a new work composed by Mr. Gordon each year to be workshopped by the choristers and Artistic Director Francisco J. Nuñez and premiered by YPC at the end of each season. Mr. Gordon's residency will also include another new work composed for YPC's younger children, YPC's Satellite Schools children, and its community choruses; as well as masterclasses for YPC singers; and his participation as an artistic advisor.

The Young People's Chorus of New York City led by Artistic Director and Founder Francisco J. Núñez brightens the December holidays with concerts, television appearances, and recordings to give and enjoy.  It all begins Wednesday, December 2, when the YPC choristers perform on both the local and national telecasts of this year's “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” at 7 p.m. on NBC-TV.

?Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) ends its spring season on a high note with the ebullient sound of youthful voices and vibrant young musicians. Future Vibrations, on Sunday, June 14 at 2:00 pm at Carnegie Hall, features renowned conductor Francisco J. Núñez leading the Distinguished Concerts International New York, including members of his Young People's Chorus of New York City, in a program of music for treble voices. Opening the family-friendly afternoon program will be two superb youth orchestras hailing from the west coast: the Central Oregon Youth Orchestra and the Vancouver Pops Symphony.

On Monday, September 9, at 8 p.m. the Young People's Chorus of New York City conducted by its Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez will give the broadcast premiere of the four newest compositions in Radio Radiance, its ground-breaking commissioning series for young voices.
