Rose Hall on Tuesday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. for the chorus' 32nd annual Gala Concert, this year in honor of composer and philanthropist Gordon Getty. Hosted by multiple Grammy Award-winning artist Jason Mraz, the event recognizes Mr. Getty as a YPC Legacy Honoree for his shared commitment to and efforts on behalf of making music education accessible to young people of all backgrounds. Young People's Chorus of New York City® (YPC) celebrates the holidays with a variety of performances citywide, including the annual YPC Winter Wonder concert, a New York holiday tradition beloved by families across the city. Led by YPC Founder / Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez and Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Núñez, this year's Winter Wonder concert takes place at Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall on Sunday, December 8, at 4:00 p.m. and features Metropolitan Opera star Nadine Sierra and dramatic baritone Lester Lynch.

The Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC), led by Artistic Director and Founder Francisco J. N ez, debuts at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in the New York premiere of composer Ben Moore and librettist Kelley Rourke's Odyssey: A Youth Opera, an hour-long re-telling of Homer's epic. This new, fully staged and costumed production incorporates video imagery from the Museum's extensive collection including images of ancient Greek art and artifacts to create thematic links to the action on stage. The production is directed and choreographed by Eric Sean Fogel, with video and projection design by S. Katy Tucker. Three performances, presented as part of the Museum's MetLiveArts series, will be held at The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium on Friday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 4 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

American composer Michael Gordon has been named the first-ever Composer-in-Residence of the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC). The three-year residency, beginning this month, will comprise a new work composed by Mr. Gordon each year to be workshopped by the choristers and Artistic Director Francisco J. Nuñez and premiered by YPC at the end of each season. Mr. Gordon's residency will also include another new work composed for YPC's younger children, YPC's Satellite Schools children, and its community choruses; as well as masterclasses for YPC singers; and his participation as an artistic advisor.

Núñez brightens the December holidays with concerts, television appearances, and recordings to give and enjoy.  It all begins Wednesday, December 2, when the YPC choristers perform on both the local and national telecasts of this year's “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” at 7 p.m. on NBC-TV.

Future Vibrations, on Sunday, June 14 at 2:00 pm at Carnegie Hall, features renowned conductor Francisco J. Núñez leading the Distinguished Concerts International New York, including members of his Young People's Chorus of New York City, in a program of music for treble voices. Opening the family-friendly afternoon program will be two superb youth orchestras hailing from the west coast: the Central Oregon Youth Orchestra and the Vancouver Pops Symphony.
