96 Spectacular Shows On Sale For Underbelly's Dream Line-up At This Year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe

As the build up to this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe gathers pace, today Underbelly added an eye-watering 96 dazzling shows to what will be the most ambitious programme in the company's 19 year Fringe history. Celebrating the freshest new talent and the biggest acts from the world of theatre, comedy, dance, circus and cabaret, the 2018 programme will see hundreds of the most exciting performers tread the boards across 21 Underbelly venues including McEwan Hall, Cowgate, Circus Hub and of course, the iconic Udderbelly.

Urban Stages To Honor Tony And Grammy Award Winner Jim Dale At 2018 Gala Benefit

Urban Stages' Board of Directors and founding artistic director Frances Hill will celebrate 'The Magic of Theater by presenting the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award to legendary actor Jim Date at their Gala Benefit.   The event will be held at the Boathouse in Central Park at 6:30PM on May 14, 2018. The award will be presented by stage and screen star Simon Jones (Farinelli and the King, The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy).

Smith-Cameronjoining, as previously announced, Lois Smith in this world premiere production directed by Lila Neugebauer. Previews begin May 8 in advance of an Official Opening Night on Wednesday, May 23. The Friars archives and Wikipedia have finally been corrected. Nineteen Eighty Eight was a watershed year for women. They gained membership to numerous private men's clubs that heretofore were off limits to women. The Friars, being one of the more famous of the bunch had an article heralding the event written by a less than factual reporter for The New York Times. The paper of record, in an early forerunner of fake news only listed the first 7 women and overlooked number 8...Jamie deRoy who was in that initial group, along with Liza Minnelli, Joan Rivers, Brooke Shields, and other prominent female entertainment figures was not mentioned.

The University of Saint Joseph Announces THE HEALING WORLD PROJECT

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Central Connecticut State University, and the University of Hartford will introduce The Healing World Project at 7:30 p.m. on April 14, 2018 at the Autorino Center for the Arts and Humanities in the Bruyette Athenaeum on USJ's West Hartford campus, located at 1678 Asylum Ave. The Healing World Project, funded by a grant from the Hartford Consortium for Higher Education, aims to present and record the music of refugee and recent immigrant musicians living in Connecticut. Working with students and faculty from the three universities, these musicians create music works that are presented in public performance, toured throughout Connecticut, and recorded for distribution. During the 2017-18 academic year, students and faculty from each university have been working with musicians to produce and record the music, schedule concerts, design promotional materials, promote the concerts on social media, and document the project in photography and video.
