Asheville Creative Arts (ACA), Asheville's professional children's theatre continues to build on new initiatives unveiled in its 5th Milestone Season, growing into its 6th year with innovative mainstage productions, THIS GIRL LAUGHS, THIS GIRL CRIES, THIS GIRL DOES NOTHING and BUGS

Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts (www.usdan.org), one of the pre-eminent nonprofit arts day camps in the country, today announced the Festival line-up for its 50th Anniversary Season - which kicks off on June 26. Curated by Usdan's recently appointed Artistic Director Jonathan Shmidt Chapman, in partnership with Usdan students on the first-ever Camper Curatorial Council, the 2018 program consists of student performances as well as 14 different professional acts, representing genres from classical music and dance to poetry, musical theatre, and comedy.

Atlantic for Kids (Atlantic Theater Company Artistic Director, Neil Pepe; Atlantic Theater Company Managing Director, Jeffory Lawson; Atlantic Acting School Executive Director, Mary McCann; Atlantic for Kids Artistic Director, Alison Beatty) has added two public performances of This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing, a play by Finegan Kruckemeyer with original music by Nate Weida. Directed by Alison Beatty and Tom Costello, performances will now conclude on Sunday, March 11th, 2018 at Atlantic Theater Company's Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues).

This season, Synergy Resources Group, is sponsoring the CoHo Theater production This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing, put on by theater producer Beth Thompson. It's part of an annual mission of President & Founder Debra Dunn to provide for a cause that supports women in their careers and/or their passion pursuits.

Still one of the most the most unique and thrilling live theatrical offerings you will ever experience, THE CAR PLAYS has once again parked themselves at the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza at Segerstrom Center for the Arts for another highly-anticipated round of claustrophobic, stopped-in-traffic high drama or amusing hilarity. Produced by Moving Arts under Creator/Artistic Producer Paul Stein, THE CAR PLAYS is again presented as part of Segerstrom Center's annual popular 'Off Center Festival,' its celebration of unique and avant-garde musical and theatrical acts. Because 'seating' is literally limited, there are only so many spots available to take in this incredible site-specific theater experience, which explains why it has been extended an additional weekend---through February 3, 2018---to meet the high demand.

1812 Productions is pleased to present a two-night only concert performance of its original holiday musical, The Carols, written by Jennifer Childs and Monica Stephenson. Lincoln Center today announced its 2017-18 LC Kids season, featuring a diverse lineup of performances, events, and celebrations for children and families. Running from September through June, artists from New York and beyond will offer theater, dance, music, puppetry, storytimes, immersive experiences and more in a range of free and ticketed events.

CoHo Productions has announced #CoHoSeason22, featuring four artist-led co-productions of contemporary plays in the main subscription season for 2017-2018.

Today's subject Colin Hovde is living his theatre life in two very different ways. He is currently in his fifth season as the Producing Artistic Director of Theater Alliance which performs at the Anacostia Playhouse. Their current production Mnemonic runs through April 9th. The show is directed by Hovde.
