CARRIE Extension Cut Short; Show to Close April 8

MCC Theater announced today that Carrie has cut short its previously announced extension and will close following the evening performance on Sunday, April 8, 2012 (after 34 previews and 46 performances).

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Marin Mazzie will be taking the weekend off from CARRIE duty to fulfill previously scheduled concert engagement in California. Stepping in for Mazzie in the role of Margaret White for performances on March 16 - March 18 will be Anne Tolpegin, best known for her roles in Les Miserables and A Tale of Two Cities. Mazzie will return to the production as scheduled on Tuesday, March 20.

After a second sold-out show engagement at Joe's Pub in January, songwriter Drew Gasparini has been invited back to the famed NYC venue for a third concert on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 9:30pm. The evening will feature brand-new material from Drew's show Circles, and his upcoming serial killer musical, Make Me Bad.

The musical Carrie made her return eagerly awaiting return to New York City last night after the show's notoriously short 1988 run on Broadway. This brand new and revised production, now playing at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street), has already extended its run, and will now play performances through April 22, 2012.
