Libra Theater Company is set to present Songs You Should Know, a concert of new and rarely performed songs by some of today's most exciting music theater writers.

Drew Gasparini returns to Joe's Pub, January 22 at 9:30 PM. The evening will be jam packed with material from his award winning musical, Crazy, Just Like Me, his new musical Circles, and also brand-new songs and pop singles written for television.

Libra Theater Company will present Songs You Should Know, a concert of new and rarely performed songs by some of today's most prolific music theater writers. Hosted by Jeremy Morse (Drama Desk nominee, Bloodsong of Love) and Jennifer Ashley Tepper (If It Only Even Runs a Minute), Songs You Should Know includes new work from Brad Alexander Sam Carner and Derek Gregor, Joshua H. Cohen and Lavell Blackwell, Bobby Cronin, Adam Gwon, Caleb Hoyer, Joe Iconis, Russ Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth, Pete Mills, and Will Reynolds. The concert will feature performances by Anne Bobby, Alex Brightman, Sarah Corey, Scott Coulter, Matt Dengler, Katrina Rose Dideriksen, J. Austin Eyer, Melanie Field, Blair Goldberg, Jessica Grove, F. Michael Haynie, Jeremy Jordan, MK Lawson, Kevin Michael Murphy, and Jason "SweetTooth" Williams.

The newly reworked and fully re-imagined production of Carrie, opens at the Lucile Lortel Theatre on March 1, 2012. The CAP21 Theatre Company has announced the next benefit concert in the Concerts for CAP21 series- SONGS ON FIVE. Featuring new songs from top songwriters in New York City, the one-night engagement is November 21 at 8:00pm at the CAP21 Black Box Theatre (18 West 18th Street, 5th Floor). All proceeds will benefit CAP21. Tickets are $21 and include a post-concert wine networking party. Tickets are available through OvationTix, online at www.cap21.org, or at the door.

'F**king Hipsters!' a new musical comedy with book by Keythe Farley ('Bat Boy: The Musical'), lyrics by Lori Scarlett ('Break Up Notebook') and music by Ms. Scarlett and John Ballinger, receives its world premiere production as part of the 2011 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) on tonight at 8:00 pm at the Signature Theatre: Peter Norton Space at 555 W. 42nd St. The production is directed by Two-time Tony Nominee John Carrafa ('Urinetown', 'Love, Valour, Compassion').

Broadway Sessions is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week, and features musical director/composer Will Van Dyke (Rent) on piano. In addition after the show we open the microphone up to anyone who wants to sing. Open mic from 12:00-2am.
