In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel, one of Tennessee Williams lesser known works, opens on Wednesday, March 15 at 292 Theatre on The Lower East Side. The production was recently produced at the 2016 Tennessee Williams Theatre Festival in Provincetown, Massachusetts where it played to sold-out houses. Legendary New York actor/writer/director, Everett Quinton who is best known for his work with Ridiculous Theatrical Company, directs.

A Wildly Popular Trashy Melodrama from the Yiddish Theater to be Performed at YIVO

Once a staple of the popular Yiddish stage, Isaac Zolotarevsky's legendary 1910 melodrama Gelt, Libe, Un Shande will be presented on Monday, February 6th at 7 PM at the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research in a new English translation by writer/director Allen Lewis Rickman under the title MONEY, LOVE, AND SHAME! This one-night-only event will feature two-time Drama Desk Award winner Everett Quinton (The Mystery of Irma Vep, Camille, Natural Born Killers, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella), Samantha Maurice (Much Ado About Nothing, The Grasshopper Way, The Winter's Tale), Allen Lewis Rickman ("Boardwalk Empire," "You Don't Know Jack," A Serious Man, Relatively Speaking), Yelena Shmulenson ("Boardwalk Empire," "Orange is the New Black," "The Knick"), Kevin Sebastian("Blue Bloods," "Bull," Goyband), Jacqueline Sydney (Filmic Achievement, The Prom Queen, Confess), and Kraig Swartz (A Picture of Autumn, Donogoo, So Help Me God!)  MONEY, LOVE, AND SHAME! will be directed by Allen Lewis Rickman, with piano accompaniment by Steve Sterner (25 years as house pianist at Film Forum, where he accompanies classic silent movies with his own scores).

Red Bull Theater presents their 2016-'17 Season kick-off, a special benefit reading and party, tonight, October 10th (7:30pm) at Symphony Space: Moliere's Tartuffe, translated by Richard Wilbur, directed by Marc Vietor (who directed last season's acclaimed The School for Scandal), and starring Bill Camp, Julie Halston, Dana Ivey, Reg Rogers, Derek Smith, and Michael Urie, along with Christian DeMarais, Gretchen Hall, Naomi Lorrain, and Ben Mehl.

Dana Smith-Croll of The Actors Company Theatre & Jenne Vath (NYInnovative Theatre Award Nomination) join Mikel Sarah Lambert, former member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and Drama Desk nominee for the Mint Theatre's revival of D.H. Lawrence's The Daughter-in-Law, in THE ACTRESS, a new one act play by Carrie Robbins, to be presented at the Hudson Guild Theater on August 22, 24 & 27, 2016.  THE ACTRESS is directed by Paul Dobie and will be part of Thespis Productions 2016 Summerfest Theater Festival.  Days of the Giants LLC will co-produce.
