The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents the third event of the National Geographic Live series during The Broad Stage's 2018-19 Season - Point of No Return with Hilaree Nelson, a National Geographic Explorer and Mountaineer, on February 28 & March 1 at 7:30pm. Nelson ascended Myanmar's Hkakabo Razi with a National Geographic team to determine its exact height and is the first woman to have climbed both Everest and its neighbor, Lhotse, in a single 24-hour period. General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler today announced the next production of Lyric Opera of Kansas City's Explorations Series, Mack The Knife is The Man I Love: A Weill-Gershwin Cabaret which will feature the songs of George and Ira Gershwin and Kurt Weill. The 2018-2019 Explorations Series performance, with musical direction by Mark Markham and stage direction by Fenlon Lamb, will showcase the Lyric Opera's Resident Artists, including Kaylie Kahlich, Kelly Birch, Joseph Leppek, and James Maverick, plus Apprentice Artists Ruby Dibble, Jonathan Ray, and Armando Contreras. The performance will be held February 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lyric Opera's Michael and Ginger Frost Production Arts Building.

Renowned Actor/Producer George Takei Joins AMC's THE TERROR As Consultant & Series Regular

AMC announced today that renowned actor, producer, author and activist George Takei (“Star Trek”) will join the second season of the critically acclaimed, Ridley Scott-produced anthology series, “The Terror,” as a consultant and series regular. The network previously announced actor Derek Mio will star in the series as Chester Nakayama and Josef Kubota Wladyka (“Narcos”) will direct the first two episodes. Production is scheduled to begin in January in Vancouver. Season two will air on AMC in 2019 with ten episodes.
