Direct from the Parliamentary Despatch Box, the Sydney Opera House today announced that renowned satirist Jonathan Biggins will tackle one of Australia's most memorable Prime Ministers, Paul Keating, in a highly anticipated new comedy, The Gospel According to Paul.

Artistic Director Kristen van Ginhoven, Associate Artistic Director Talya Kingston, and the WAM team are proud announce the cast for their spring Main Stage production, the world premiere of Lady Randy by Anne Undeland. After two preview performances, the production opens April 20, 2019, at Shakespeare & Company's Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre, and runs through May 5.

Luna Stage will launch 2019 with the World Premiere of Christina Gorman's cyber-security romance Roan @ The Gates by, directed by Michelle Tattenbaum. An exploration of internet privacy and the risks of whistleblowing, this suspenseful new play examines the cost of doing the right thing.

The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents the third event of the National Geographic Live series during The Broad Stage's 2018-19 Season - Point of No Return with Hilaree Nelson, a National Geographic Explorer and Mountaineer, on February 28 & March 1 at 7:30pm. Nelson ascended Myanmar's Hkakabo Razi with a National Geographic team to determine its exact height and is the first woman to have climbed both Everest and its neighbor, Lhotse, in a single 24-hour period.  The event includes a post-show Q&A with Nelson.

Austin Opera today announces its 2019-2020 Season of programming at the Long Center, which includes Verdi's Rigoletto; the company premiere of Joby Talbot and Gene Scheer's Everest, the tale of one of the worst years in the famous mountain's history; and Puccini's final opera, Turandot.

The Playhouse's family-friendly, Off the Hill series tours its second production of the season this January and February to community centers in Greater Cincinnati with CYRANO, a youth-oriented adaptation that's based on the 1897 classic play Cyrano de Bergerac. The production runs Jan. 19 to Feb. 17, 2019.

General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler today announced the next production of Lyric Opera of Kansas City's Explorations Series, Mack The Knife is The Man I Love: A Weill-Gershwin Cabaret which will feature the songs of George and Ira Gershwin and Kurt Weill. The 2018-2019 Explorations Series performance, with musical direction by Mark Markham and stage direction by Fenlon Lamb, will showcase the Lyric Opera's Resident Artists, including Kaylie Kahlich, Kelly Birch, Joseph Leppek, and James Maverick, plus Apprentice Artists Ruby Dibble, Jonathan Ray, and Armando Contreras. The performance will be held February 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lyric Opera's Michael and Ginger Frost Production Arts Building.

Theatre for a New Audience presents About Alice, the world premiere of a new play by Calvin Trillin, inspired by his 2007 memoir of the same name. The production, directed by Leonard Foglia, plays January 8-February 3, 2019 at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn).

McKinney Youth on STAGE (aka as MYO) will be taking over the world with its production of Little Shop of Horrors. The show will perform at the Cox Playhouse in downtown Plano January 17, 18, 19 at 7:00 with an additional matinee at 2:00 on the 19th. Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson  are set to lead the cast of Netflix'sVirgin River, a contemporary romance based on the beloved Harlequin book series that took author Robyn Carr to the top of the New York Times bestseller list. There are now twenty books in the Virgin River series, and together they have sold more than 13 million copies. Virgin River was named to The HarperCollins 200 list, which celebrates 200 iconic books of the past 200 years.

AMC announced today that renowned actor, producer, author and activist George Takei (“Star Trek”) will join the second season of the critically acclaimed, Ridley Scott-produced anthology series, “The Terror,” as a consultant and series regular. The network previously announced actor Derek Mio will star in the series as Chester Nakayama and Josef Kubota Wladyka (“Narcos”) will direct the first two episodes.  Production is scheduled to begin in January in Vancouver. Season two will air on AMC in 2019 with ten episodes.
