Spinning Tree Theatre continues season eight January 17 - February 3 with the Kansas City premiere of Emotional Creature: The Secret Life of Girls Around the World. Eve Ensler (The Vagina Monologues) adapted her bestselling book into a unique theatrical experience: a fierce collage of monologues, chat sessions, songs (original music by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder) and dance.

American Stage is excited to continue their support of the next generation of American playwrights with their 2019 21ST CENTURY VOICES: NEW PLAY FESTIVAL. This festival is a core component of our 21stCENTURY VOICES: EMERGING PLAYS, dedicated to discovering, developing, and introducing audiences to new works for the stage. A diverse committee of 40 community members works alongside our Producing Artistic Director Stephanie Gularte each year to read and evaluate over 500 new play submissions from up-and-coming playwrights across the globe.

On its tenth anniversary, New York City Mayor, Ed Koch, named the Cornelia Street Cafe 'a culinary as well as a cultural landmark.' Now that landmark will close its doors at 29 Cornelia Street for good on January 2, 2019. A year ago, The New York Times reported that the Cafe was in trouble, with a soaring rent threatening closure. An official reason for the shuttering has not been revealed, but according to DNAInfo, landlord Mark Scharfman is 'a frequent fixture on various 'Worst Landlord' lists.'

The Susan B. Anthony Project, in conjunction with LoveArtPlay, will present Eve Ensler's THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES, on Friday, February 15 at 7:00 pm in the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre as a special fundraiser.    An Obie Award-winning whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone, THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who "liked to look at it."  

New York Stage and Film is thrilled to announce that its annual Winter Gala will feature performances and appearances by Tony Award nominee and Pulitzer Prize finalist Jon Robin Baitz, Tony Award nominee Santino Fontana, David Forman, Tony Award winner John Gallagher Jr, Grammy Award nominee Rob Hyman, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Mozhan Marno, Bonnie Milligan, Manu Narayan, Josh Radnor, Dee Roscioli, Academy Award  and Tony Award winner John Patrick Shanley, Grammy Award and Tony Award winner Duncan Sheik, and Obie Award  winner Lucy Thurber. Brian Usifer serves as Musical Director.

Arena Stage presents  Cole Porter's madcap seafaring musical, Anything Goes, with music and lyrics by Porter; original book by P.G. Wodehouse and Guy Bolton, with co-authors Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse; and new book by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman.

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the world premiere of EVE'S SONG, written by The Public's Emerging Writers Group alum and 2017-18 Tow Playwright-in-Residence, Patricia Ione Lloyd.

Actor/writer Veronica Wylie and actor/producer Maxie Solters, have partnered with Seeka TV to release Adventures in Online Dating, a dramedy web-series. Adventures in Online Dating (AOD) follows four slightly off-center best friends who, disillusioned with traditional blind dates, create online dating profiles to cull the herd. Through their various misadventures, they discover that the landscape of online dating is quite different from that of conventional dating, and that the same methods don't seem to work. Eventually they come to the conclusion that what they wanted was in front of them right from the start.

New York Stage and Film is thrilled to announce that its annual Winter Gala will honor playwright and Emmy award-winning actress Patricia Wettig (F2M, 'Brothers and Sisters,' 'thirtysomething') and Executive Producer/director/actor Ken Olin ('This Is Us,' 'Alias,' 'Brothers & Sisters,' 'thirtysomething'), and, in recognition for her years of dedication to New York Stage and Film, Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer, who is stepping down from her post at the end of the 2019 Powerhouse Summer Season.

The Vagina Monologues has one more performance tonight at 7:30pm at The People's Building (9995 East Colfax Avenue, Aurora.) Doors open at 7pm and all seating is general admission. 

Abingdon Theatre Company held their special one-night-only gala event on Monday, October 22 at The Edison Ballroom. The evening, honoring two-time Tony Award winner Donna Murphy (Hello, Dolly!; Passion; Wonderful Town), was hosted by Randy Rainbow.

Arena Stage will present the American Artist Award to Tony Award-winning playwright, performer, activist and author Eve Ensler, one of Arena's Power Play commissioned artists. The award will be presented Wednesday, November 14, 2018 as part of the opening night celebration for the gold standard musical Anything Goes, directed by Molly Smith. 

In an artistic response to the current political climate, It Grows Wild presents their inaugural production, The Vagina Monologues, by Eve Ensler. Performances will be Friday and Saturday, November 2 and 3 at 7:30 PM at The People's Building, located at 9995 E. Colfax Ave, Aurora, CO 80010. HERE announces that applications for the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP) are currently open. This multi-year, $100,000 residency program was created in 1999 and serves as a national model.

New York Stage and Film announced today that Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer will be stepping down from her longtime leadership position with the organization to become the new Artistic Director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre beginning September 1, 2019.
