This festival is a core component of our 21stCENTURY VOICES: EMERGING PLAYS, dedicated to discovering, developing, and introducing audiences to new works for the stage. A diverse committee of 40 community members works alongside our Producing Artistic Director Stephanie Gularte each year to read and evaluate over 500 new play submissions from up-and-coming playwrights across the globe.
Cornelia Street Cafe And Underground To Close On January 2, 2019

On its tenth anniversary, New York City Mayor, Ed Koch, named the Cornelia Street Cafe 'a culinary as well as a cultural landmark.' Now that landmark will close its doors at 29 Cornelia Street for good on January 2, 2019. A year ago, The New York Times reported that the Cafe was in trouble, with a soaring rent threatening closure. An official reason for the shuttering has not been revealed, but according to DNAInfo, landlord Mark Scharfman is 'a frequent fixture on various 'Worst Landlord' lists.'

Anthony Project, in conjunction with LoveArtPlay, will present Eve Ensler's THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES, on Friday, February 15 at 7:00 pm in the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre as a special fundraiser. An Obie Award-winning whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone, THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who "liked to look at it."

Actor/writer Veronica Wylie and actor/producer Maxie Solters, have partnered with Seeka TV to release Adventures in Online Dating, a dramedy web-series. Adventures in Online Dating (AOD) follows four slightly off-center best friends who, disillusioned with traditional blind dates, create online dating profiles to cull the herd. Through their various misadventures, they discover that the landscape of online dating is quite different from that of conventional dating, and that the same methods don't seem to work. Eventually they come to the conclusion that what they wanted was in front of them right from the start.
