Victoria Playhouse Petrolia (VPP) has announced that Emmy Award winner MICHAEL LEARNED, and Tony/Emmy Award winner HAL LINDEN have joined the company of ON GOLDEN POND, running June 2 to 21, 2020. Ms. Learned is best known for her iconic role as Olivia Walton on The Waltons. Ms. Learned is a four-time Emmy Award-winning actress, three for her work as Olivia Walton, and one for her role as Mary Benjamin in her own series Nurse. She is also a three-time Golden Globe nominee. She continues to have a thriving career both on the stage and screen. Ms. Learned appeared at the VPP in Love Letters, co-starring TV husband Ralph Waite (John Walton Sr.) and Driving Miss Daisy.

Bergen County Players, one of America's longest-running little theater companies, will kick off its new Second Stage season with a limited engagement of Ernest Thompson's ANSWERS, a duo of hilarious one-act comedies. Under the direction of Matthew Blum, ANSWERS will run November 9th and 10th at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell. Show times will be Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 7pm. "On Golden Pond" by Ernest Thompson is opening August 2, 2019 at the Granite Theatre. Often perceived as a serious drama, Artistic Director David Jepson says it is "both comedy and drama that often matches the funniest one liners of any Neil Simon. "On Golden Pond" will be the last opportunity for the audience to see the long time producing and acting team of David and Beth Jepson on stage together before their retirement at the end of this season. The 2019 season opens with THE GAME'S AFOOT by Ken Ludwig. It is December 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. It is then up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. The danger and hilarity are non-stop. - March 22 - April 7

Bristol Riverside Theatre starts the new year with the American classic On Golden Pond, by Ernest Thompson, running January 22 - February 10.  The humorous and heartwarming play is directed by Bristol Riverside Theatre's founding director Susan D. Atkinson. Previews begin Tuesday, January 22, with opening night set for Thursday, January 24.

NH's consistently award-winning, and perhaps youngest, professional theatre has just launched their 2019 summer season, and topping the list is a June 12 opening of On Golden Pond that will be directed by author and Academy Award winner, Ernest Thompson. Set in Maine, the film shot in NH's Squam Lake locations not far from the Playhouse, the art of the play is not in its settings but in the relationships that emerge from golden days and loving bonds - truth revealed in any locale. On Golden Pond is part of a thematic year of art - and artists - they're calling 'Made in America,' with work that speaks to what that means and how our very diversity actually unifies us in the iconography of discovery.

 A new independent feature film is about to be made in the beautiful, yet rarely used for feature film production, state of New Hampshire. PARALLEL AMERICA, written by Ernest Thompson, Oscar® & Golden Globe® winner for his screenplay of On Golden Pond,  Ernest will also direct and star in the film. The cast includes Gordon Clapp (Emmy® winner, NYPD Blue & Tony® Award nominee, Glengarry Glen Ross), critically acclaimed actress Lisa Bostnar, actor/singer John Davidson and theatre legend Alvin Epstein (originated the role of Lucky on Broadway in Waiting for Godot).
