The 15th Annual New York International Fringe Festival will present the premiere of the new play SAMMY GETS MUGGED!, by award-winning writer Dan Heching, from August 15 to 28. Directed by Noah Himmelstein, the cast features Stephanie Pope Caffey (Broadway's Chicago, Fosse and more), Patrick Byas ('Law & Order: SVU') and Mr. Heching.

The producers of Broadway's LOMBARDI announced today that the show will play its final performance on Sunday May 22. Producers Fran Kirmser and Tony Ponturo said, 'LOMBARDI was a story that we wanted to tell and an idea that we believed in. We wanted to attract both an audience which had never set foot in a Broadway theatre, and to satisfy the traditional theatre goer. Vince Lombardi's remarkable life offered us the opportunity to assemble a cast made in heaven, and a creative dream team.'
On Saturday afternoon April 30 following LOMBARDI's matinee, star Dan Lauria will make history when he takes the podium at Radio City Music Hall to announce the Green Bay Packers' sixth round draft pick - in costume and in character. While teams have had former and current players make their selection, it is the first time that an actor will make a selection for a professional sports team during a draft. Lauria's portrayal of the legendary coach has been called 'compelling' and 'mesmerizing,' by Variety, and WOR Radio says that 'he nailed it.' The NFL made their own history with LOMBARDI, when they made their producing debut with the show, now the longest running play on Broadway.

Autographed poster copies will be auctioned off at a future event to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The party was hosted by Bruce Dimpflmaier and Tony's di Napoli Restaurant.
