Angel Velez, Conductor and Education Through Music-Los Angeles Associate Board member, presents Silent Films Live 2. Sponsored by BMI, this star-studded event brings together highly-acclaimed film, television, and visual media composers to reimagine and create new scores for classic silent films. Adding to the silent film era theme, the event will take place at Bandrika Studios, a space custom-built to showcase Hollywood's original 1,500 pipe Wurlitzer organ. The Nashville Symphony has announced the lineup for its 2019/20 season, which kicks off in September and features an extensive variety of classical, pops, jazz and family concerts, including top-flight guest artists, film favorites with live orchestral accompaniment, unique speaker events and much more. At the heart of this concert programming, Maestro Giancarlo Guerrero will lead the orchestra in its flagship Classical Series, which includes everything from masterworks by Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Berlioz and Beethoven to boundary-pushing contemporary American works.

The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (COP) explores the sound of the pipa alongside familiar European repertoire with works of Mozart and Dvo?ak. These works for strings by master composers are followed by a traditional Chinese tune arranged by COP's own Dirk Brosse. The Pipa is showcased alongside the Chamber Orchestra's sound in Lou Harrison's Concerto for Pipa with String Orchestra. Wu Man will also first introduce us to the instrument by playing a solo piece for the Pipa in the intimate setting of the Perelman Theater.

On November 2 and 3 at 7 PM, the Utah Symphony Films in Concert series will haunt Abravanel Hall with "Ghostbusters" in Concert, the 1980s cult classic about a team of Columbia University scientists who wage a high-tech battle against the supernatural, with the musical score performed live to picture by the Utah Symphony. Desert Rose Playhouse, the Coachella Valley's LGBT theatre company, always picks something light and enjoyable as their season finale, the slot they refer to as 'Hot summer nights.' To balance out the fact that the last two summers had an all-male show, this year's choice is Women Behind Bars with a mostly female cast. They pulled out all the stops to assemble some of the Valley's top actresses for this side-splitting send up of the tawdry prison dame B-features of the 50's. They are joined by one man and a couple of dolls who arrive at the theatre as men. The results are hilarious, and this show should be on your 'Must See List!'

National Geographic and Jason Michael Paul Entertainment, Inc. today announced that Tony- and Grammy-award winner Daveed Diggs will narrate, as a contributing artist, the upcoming National Geographic: Symphony for Our World, which begins touring in April 2018. The actor, rapper and producer, known for his award-winning work in the musical Hamilton and is bringing a modern take on the classics to the symphony scene with this new show. An inaugural performance of Symphony for Our World will be held in San Francisco at the Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall on Earth Day, April 22, 2018.

Not for Resale, a performance presented by NYU Steinhardt's Program in Drama Therapy, examines queerness in socio-political environments and therapeutic spaces, grappling with questions of representation in both treatment and society at large.

No wonder, the fable of the boy who refused to grow up, created by J. M. Berrie, is more and more current. This classic became a reference in literature, in the cinema and also in the theater. The Broadway version of 'Peter Pan' will finally win a Brazilian staging, with Mateus Ribeiro in the title role and Daniel Boaventura as Captain Hook. The show directed by Jose Possi Neto and choreographed by Alonso Barros, premiered on March 8, at Teatro Alfa, in a production of Touche Entertainment and coproduction of Daniel Boaventura.
