The Chicago Philharmonic caps off an innovative and critically acclaimed season with a concert full of family-friendly fun in Hollywood Heroes. Featuring spectacular music from movie favorites, as part of Chicago Philharmonic's dedication to diverse and accessible programming, the concert brings a touch of Hollywood to Chicago's Harris Theater. Led by Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Scott Speck, highlights of the concert include selections from Michael Giacchino's jazzy 1960's-inspired score from The Incredibles, the bombastic score from Pirates of the Caribbean, iconic music by John Williams from Star Wars, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and classic Western themes The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and The Magnificent Seven.

Concert-goers are encouraged to attend dressed as Hollywood heroes, characters, or stars, with prizes awarded to the best costumes. Young, and the young at heart, will delight in meeting the Chicago Philharmonic's secret special guests in the foyer or being photographed walking the red carpet before the performance.

In addition to the concert and festivities, the Chicago Philharmonic will also announce on this day its highly anticipated 2018-2019 season, with subscriptions available for sale online immediately after the concert. After a year of successes including a world premiere of a newly commissioned piece, the organization's first-ever international tour, and being named "Professional Orchestra of the Year" by the Illinois Council of Orchestras, 2018-2019 promises another entertaining season filled with inventive, inclusive concerts and world-class collaborations, including the music festival in celebration of Poland and Polish culture in Chicago, Chicago Philharmonic Festival: Poland 2018. The full symphonic season line-up, tickets, and festival pass details will be announced on May 27.
