Playwright Adam Rapp has signed with CAA for representation in all areas.

Actionplay, a theatre company dedicated to providing autistic, neurodivergent, and disabled teens and young adults equal access to the theatre-making process, is pleased to announce their next production, the new musical comedy The Surface (or, That One Time Atlantis Washed Up On the Beach).

Arrowsmith Press, together with the Boston Playwrights' Theatre and The Derek Walcott Festival in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, announce the Derek Walcott Prize for Poetry. The winners receive a $1000. prize and an opportunity to read in Boston. A delayed celebratory reading bringing together award recipients from the last two years will take place on Zoom on Sunday, May 15th at 12 PM.

More than 60 nominations in over two dozen categories of outstanding actors, directors, designers, choreographers, musicians, and productions were announced today by the Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA) for the 39th Elliot Norton Awards.

Boston Playwrights' Theatre announces the in-person return of its annual celebration of new short plays. Boston Theater Marathon XXIV will feature 50 ten-minute plays written by New England playwrights and presented by New England theatre companies. The event will take place in BPT's home theatre on Boston University's West Campus.

TheaterWorks Hartford presents international drag superstar and unlicensed health care provider Varla Jean Merman in her hit comedy cabaret Little Prick. This gut-busting show, co-written by Hartford-area playwright Jacques Lamarre, will offer a double-dose of fun for two performances on Saturday, June 11 at 6:30pm and 9pm. Varla will be setting up her special 'entertainment clinic' at TheaterWorks at 233 Pearl Street in downtown Hartford.

The Public Theater will begin performances for the New York premiere of THE VAGRANT TRILOGY on Friday, April 8 with a Joseph Papp Free Performance, after the cancellation of the 2020 production just five days before the first performance and a two-year postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

CSC will host a one-night-only benefit staged reading of Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare, directed by Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler. This production will feature Christian Coulson (Harry Potter, The Hours, Mozart in the Jungle, Nashville) as Angelo and features a dynamic cast of the area’s extraordinary talent.

The Public Theater and National Black Theatre announced complete casting today for the upcoming New York Premiere of FAT HAM written by James Ijames and directed by Public Theater Associate Artistic Director and Resident Director Saheem Ali.

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training wraps up its 2021-22 season with William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Adapted and directed by Jonathan Epstein, and with original music by Daniel Levy, the show runs April 6 – 24, with a pay-what-you-can preview on April 5.

A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder with Music and Lyrics by Steven Lutvak and Book and Lyrics by Robert L. Freedman will find its way to the Lyric Stage Company of Boston after originally scheduled to open on May 15, 2020.
