La Ti Do Productions (LTD) brings together Washington, DC's best in partnership with DC Metro Theater Arts (DCMTA) to sing-a-long to Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda's music to celebrate the musical tour's residence at The Kennedy Center this summer. DCMTA and LTD are pleased to announce the featured artists and partner organizations.

Grab your sunscreen and head down south for the Chillin' on the Lucie music festival in Port St. Lucie, Fla., Oct. 3 - 7. Headlining will be country icon, Wynonna, with her band The Big Noise, and hit-maker Joe Nichols, with two more to be announced. RaeLynn, Thompson Square, Craig Campbell, Restless Heart, Love and Theft, Trent Tomlinson, Scooter Brown Band and Southern Halo are also scheduled to perform at the festival, with more acts to be announced. Brown Paper Box Co.'s regional premiere of EVERYBODY has found its cast! This modern riff on the medieval morality play Everyman follows Everybody (chosen from the cast via lottery at each performance) as they question and explore life's most basic and universal elements of death, love, friendship, family, God. etc. Playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (Gloria, An Octoroon) bases EVERYBODY on the 15th century morality play that instructs sinners on how to repent and seek redemption.

The U.S. Premiere of Toshiki Okada's Time's Journey Through a Room opens this Sunday, May 20, at the Mezzanine Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres. Presented by The Play Company (PlayCo), led by Founding Producer Kate Loewald and Managing Director Robert G. Bradshaw, Time's Journey Through a Room is PlayCo's third collaboration with Okada, translator Aya Ogawa and director Dan Rothenberg. This haunting play, set in Japan after the Fukushima disaster, stars the Japanese-born, New York based performers Yuki Kawahisa (Honoka), Maho Honda (Arisa) and Kensaku Shinohara (Kazuki). The play is both an intimate examination of how we move forward from life-altering events, and a study of how we experience time, asking whether we can ever be alive to the present moment. 

The Broadway Education Alliance just announced that The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance will be held on Saturday, May 19 at Pearl Studios in Manhattan. This program is open to high schools located in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, Orange and Rockland Counties, and Westchester. To be eligible, high schools must present an officially licensed production of a Broadway musical during the 2017- 2018 academic year. The Roger Rees Awards has accepted 29 schools, whose students will compete for the title of Best Actor and Best Actress. Winners of the Roger Rees Award will represent the Greater New York region at The Broadway League Foundation's Jimmy® Awards (also known as the National High School Musical Theatre Awards) in June.
