Casting of Goodspeed Musicals' Cyrano is complete. Film and TV actor Blake Jenner will play Christian. He joins previously announced Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Peter Dinklage, who will play Cyrano alongside film actress Haley Bennett as Roxanne in this bold new musical.

Sabina Ddumba Reveals Video For New Single SMALL WORLD

Through the Anacostia Musical Theatre Lab, interviews with residents of Anacostia were conducted to highlight the vital stories of this neighborhood in transition. The Lab aims to reflect the voices of the community and provide opportunities for undeserved populations to use music as a means of storytelling, healing and hope. The project will commence with a workshop performance on Friday, June 29 at 8PM, Doors 7:30PM in the Anacostia Arts Center Blackbox at 1231 Good Hope Road SE, Washington, DC. A talk-back/community conversation hosted by local spoken word and visual artist Harvey Fitz will follow.

Multi-platinum selling singer, songwriter and record producer, Martin Johnson aka The Night Game has announced today that he and his band members will be hitting the road in Europe and North America for a string of headlining shows, festival appearances, as well support shows with critically acclaimed South African artist St. Lucia this fall.

The Hearth (Artistic Directors Julia Greer and Emma Miller) will present a special return engagement of their production of ATHENA, written by Gracie Gardner (American Playwriting Foundation's 2017 Relentless Award for Pussy Sludge) and directed by Emma Miller (NYIT nominated director of For Annie) at JACK (505 ½ Waverly Avenue between Fulton and Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn) September 5-16. Performances will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 8pm and Saturdays at 2pm & 8pm. Tickets ($20 under 30; $20 general admission) are available in advance at www.artful.ly/store/events/15631. The original production, which ran February 15-March 24, 2018, was a New York Times Critics Pick and a Theatre is Easy Best Bet. 

Sobini Films announced today that Oscar®-nominee James Cromwell, two-time Oscar®-nominee Bruce Dern and award-winning actress Naturi Naughton have joined Dayo Okeniyi in the cast in the Civil War-era EMPEROR, directed by Mark Amin, the veteran producer and former Vice Chairman of Lionsgate. Harry Lennix, Kat Graham, Ben Robson and Keean Johnson have also joined to round out the cast. Cromwell and Dern will play John Brown and Levi Coffin, respectively, two of the great heroes of the American abolitionist movement. Naughton plays the role of "Sarah Green," the wife of abolitionist and runaway slave Shields Green. The film is produced by Reginald Hudlin for Hudlin Entertainment and by Cami Winikoff and Amin for Sobini, with a script co-written by Amin and Pat Charles. Sobini's Tyler Boehm is executive producing. UTA is handling domestic sales. EMPEROR is currently in production in Savannah, Georgia. 

Musicals at Richter (MAR), celebrating its 34th season as the longest-running outdoor theater in Connecticut, kicks off the summer with 'Legally Blonde,' the effervescent and wildly upbeat musical based on the popular 2001 film comedy starring Reese Witherspoon. Staged on the grounds of the Richter Arts Center in Danbury, performances take place outdoors under the stars Friday through Sunday evenings at 8:00 p.m., with additional specially discounted performances on Thursday, July 5 and 12. There is no show on Friday, July 13.

You're gonna love her, guys, in this grande spanking, freshly blossomed pink rosebud of a show. If you liked Reese Witherspoon, you will adore perky, gorgeous Callandra Olivia and everyone else in the fantastically sugar-coated romp Legally Blonde The Musical currently onstage at Candlelight Pavilion Dinner Theatre.

In this time of endless Brexit questions, the NHS in crisis and the world generally seeming to be going to hell in a handcart, a lighthearted and exuberant show like Legally Blonde is sometimes the perfect antidote. Based on the 2001 film, the award-winning show follows the cutesy and seemingly vacuous American sorority girl Elle as she finds her way into Harvard Law School in pursuit of her ex-boyfriend who claimed she wasn't 'serious' enough. Glittery, camp and very pink, the production follows Elle as she makes a surprising success of her quest through abounding positivity and stellar levels of self-belief.

For its 22nd consecutive year, the west coast Actors Fund celebrated Broadway's Biggest Night at their 22nd Annual Tony Awards® Viewing Party on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, CA. This year's gala honored Tony-nominated book writer ('Wicked') and Emmy-nominated writer and producer ('My So Called Life') Winnie Holzman with the Julie Harris Award for Artistic Achievement. Kirsten Vangsness hosted with special appearances by Shoshana Bean, Wilson Cruz, Paul Dooley and Jessica Marie Garcia. BroadwayWorld's own Michael Sterling caught the action on the 'green' carpet with many of the night's celebrity guests for BWW TV Los Angeles.

Filmmaker James Wan, director of the record-setting horror hits “The Conjuring” and “The Conjuring 2,” explores another dark corner of that universe with “The Nun.”  Directed by Corin Hardy (“The Hallow”), the new fright-fest is produced by Wan and by Peter Safran, who has produced all the films in “The Conjuring” franchise.

Actress Laura Bell Bundy is about to reopen Reprise. She will be playing the role of Charity in Sweet Charity, set to open at the Freud Playhouse, UCLA on June 20. In our chat, Bundy talks about the joy that Charity exudes, the reason she cannot wait to play her. Laura, how exciting to be playing Charity and …being a part of the first show to open the new Reprise! What do you love most about the character of Charity?
