Birdland Jazz Club has announced its schedule for July 4-10 featuring Stacey Kent, Tony Yazbeck, Birdland Big Band, and more!

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theatre Festival, announced today the initial slate of artists participating in NYMF 2016, taking place from July 11 through August 7 in Midtown Manhattan.

Birdland Jazz Club has announced its July 2016 schedule, featuring Stacey Kent, The Birdland Big Band 10-Year Celebration, The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra, Nicholas Payton Quintet, Arturo O'Farrill Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Tony Yazbeck, Lesli Margherita, Ravi Coltrane, Laila Biali, Barbara Carroll, Jim Caruso's Cast Party, and more!

Just last night, The Public Theater presented its Annual Gala, THE UNITED STATES OF SHAKESPEARE at the Delacorte Theater. Directed by Jeremy McCarter, the always highly-anticipated gala included scenes from Shakespeare's greatest works and the American poems, songs, and stories they inspired, performed by some of The Public's and the nation's, most celebrated actors and musicians.  BroadwayWorld brings you photos from the big night below!

The Old Globe welcomes Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein, making his musical directing debut with RAIN, a sumptuous world premiere musical by one of the most significant teams working in theatre today: composer and lyricist Michael John LaChiusa and book writer Sybille Pearson. Based on the short story by Somerset Maugham, RAIN will play now through May 1, 2016 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. You cannot beat the Old Globe Theatre for its audacity in mounting the challenging musical Rain, based on a short story by W. Somerset Maugham. Rain was made into three separate films, a silent in 1928 starring Gloria Swanson, and then in 1932 starring Joan Crawford as Miss Sadie Thompson, and finally in 1953 Rita Hayworth assumed the role of the prostitute stranded on the South Pacific Island of Pago, Pago in 1924. This much anticipated musical version with book by Sybille Pearson and music by Michael John LaChiusa is the second time Rain has been performed onstage, the first being a play in 1922. For the entire cast and creative team in San Diego this enterprise has been enormous. It is truly an outstanding ensemble headed by Eden Espinosa as Sadie, and the set designed by Mark Wendland is by itself worth the price of admission.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, Eden Espinosa will lead the production as 'Sadie.' Directed by Barry Edelstein, the show will run March 24 to May 1, 2016 at the Old Globe's Shiley Stage.
