BWW Review: AMAZING GRACE Musical Gets Another Life in Washington, DCBWW Review: AMAZING GRACE Musical Gets Another Life in Washington, DC
by Jennifer Perry - Dec 7, 2017

There's a lot to like at the World Stage Theater right now. While this production and any subsequent national tour stops is likely to find its most receptive audience in people with an upbringing and faith similar to my own, it's not only for those that can recite every verse of the title song (and many other hymns) without even thinking for a minute, or can identify with the idea of God showing His presence in their lives. The idea of putting yourself on a better path after losing your way is something most everyone, regardless of faith or lack thereof, can understand. Even if the whole idea sounds schmaltzy, at the very least there's reason enough to check out the many talented members of the young cast. (more...)

BWW Review: BIG FISH is Larger Than Life at The Keegan TheatreBWW Review: BIG FISH is Larger Than Life at The Keegan Theatre
by Evann Normandin - Aug 10, 2017

BIG FISH fills every inch of the intimate Keegan Theatre and leaves more than a little magic in its wake. Based on the 1998 David Wallace novel and the 2003 Tim Burton film, BIG FISH revolves around traveling salesman Edward Bloom and the big stories he tells to his realist son Will. When Will finds out he's going to be father and must, at the same time, confront his father's mortality, he sets out to separate fact from fiction and find the man inside the behemoth. (more...)

BWW Review: Keegan Theatre Presents Masterful PARADE, A Must See Production
by Jeffrey Walker - Mar 18, 2017

Co-directed with precision by Christina A. Coakley and Susan Marie Rhea, Keegan's PARADE keeps the staging simple and imaginative, cutting away clutter and using only the barest of props and scenic elements to help the story unfold. No one who has seen previous Keegan musicals, such as HAIR, CABARET, or AMERICAN IDIOT could be surprised by the quality of this rendering of PARADE; I fully expect this production to be recognized multiple times when the next round of Helen Hayes Awards comes around.
