Orchestra of St. Luke's returns to Carnegie Hall for three concerts in the fall including its annual subscription series presented by Carnegie Hall, opening on October 12 with Conductor Laureate Pablo Heras-Casado on the podium. He leads Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 in C Major, Op. 21, and Mozart's Mass in C Minor, K. 427 ('Great'), featuring the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and guest vocalists sopranos Camilla Tilling and Susanna Phillips, tenor Thomas Cooley, and bass-baritone Michael Sumuel.
On Saturday, October 14 at 2:00 p.m.,Orchestra of St. Luke's returns to Carnegie Hall as three fantastic family-friendly stories are brought to life through music. Prokofiev's classic Peter and the Wolf is performed alongside two new compositions: Caroline Shaw's adaptation of The Mountain That Loved a Bird byAlice McLerran, commissioned by Carnegie Hall, and Robert Xavier Rodriguez's take on a favorite children's book, The Dot and the Line by Norton Juster, author of The Phantom Tollbooth, with the author in attendance for the performance. Edwin Outwater conducts, and renowned actor John Lithgow narrates this special Family Concert in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.

Carnegie Hall's 2017-2018 season is fast approaching, with many opportunities for families to take part in fun, interactive concerts and other activities that celebrate the joy of music and develop creativity, imagination, and musical curiosity in people of all ages.
Grammy-winning classical guitarist Jason Vieaux is currently Caramoor's Artist-in-Residence, and will be performing two more concerts in July at the popular bucolic musical destination. On Sunday, July 16 at 4pm, he joins the Orchestra of St. Luke's to perform iconic tango composer Astor Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires with bandoneonist Julien Labro, a piece which he and Labro recorded in 2011 for Azica Records. Vieaux will also perform Vivaldi's beloved Guitar Concerto in D Major with the orchestra. Vivaldi's Four Seasons featuring violin soloist Krista Bennion Feeney completes the program.

This season marks the centennial of Lou Harrison's birth; Harrison was born in May 1917 and passed away in February 2003.

Herman Cruise Terminal at Pier 27, located on the Embarcadero at the foot of Lombard Street. The Orchestra performs a concert of Russian music, including Shostakovich's Festive Overture, Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, and Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 with pianist Makoto Ozone. Audience members are encouraged to bring blankets and picnics to enjoy during the performance. Valet bike parking will be available.

Led by Director of Summer Concerts Edwin Outwater, Summer with the Symphony features a festive lineup of concerts and events for all ages, beginning with the SFS's annual Fourth of July concert and fireworks spectacular at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View. On July 7, Outwater leads the SFS in The Music of John Williams—From Star Wars to Harry Potter!, which will include Williams's iconic music from such films as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Jaws, and others.
